A few friends and I have talked about potentially getting together and doingsomething offroad. We'll all be up in Idaho around fall and I was wondering are there good spots to go? Mainly in eastern Idaho, but farther out is fine too.

I wish I could help since Idaho is on my list to visit. Check out All Trails website and their app for some trails. Also Funtreks may have some trails.

Gaia GPS online would be a good source to find published trails. A perk is that you can then add the trail's route info to a personal map an follow it on your phone / tablet. A lot of people use Gaia an publish trails.

Good call about Gaia. Also look at On-X Offroad app. I know the Ultimate Adventure put on by 4 Wheel and Offroad magazine used it a few years ago and they were in that neck of the woods and it helped them find a camp spot when forest fires had cancelled the spots the initially picked.

I have been wanting to check out the OnX app. I have been seeing some good reviews about it on different hunting groups also.

One of the early expedition overland episodes (before it went downhill) featured some trails through Idaho and the craters of the moon park. It looked like a lot of fun.

I wish I could say that I don't remember the last episode I watched. I had taken a break from it for a while and then watched the one where they took paragliding lessons. It was quality when they were winching up Morrison Jeep Trail, or doing some crazy roads in canada to go snowboard. I enjoyed the "first season"

I do not enjoy watching dudes paraglide. That was pretty much the death of that show IMO.

Yep. A new vessel of advertising.

So I guess if OP wants a good recommendation of the gear he should have in Idaho.....

Or when it takes them a week of planning routes and two days to pack up all their shit to go on a one day "adventure".
