Not a fan of sheetrock, eventually it requires maintenance, especially after the house has settled.

FGD gypsum is no bueno, the FGD has heavy/toxic metals from from burning of coal, and the FGD gypsum SDS does not list the VOC’s.

Natural gypsum is a product mined from the earth. Synthetic gypsum is made from the byproduct of power plants, also called FGD gypsum. They are both technically gypsum.

Unless a product specifically states they use natural mined gypsum, it is exceptionally difficult to track which brands use which type, or if they use a mix.

I keep debating some sort of "green" energy setup addition to my current house but nothing comes back worth the investment. I will probably do something at my next house with the intent to build the roof with a few surfaces to take advantage of the best sunlight positions.

I was kidding about next year but I could see it coming. CA is ASS-Backwards on so many things. But all homes being built must have solar.

Doesn't matter. I don't think the govt should have the authority to say what makeup a team is required to have. Nor should they have the authority to say that a home MUST have solar. Until a viable option to recycle solar panels is made, they shouldn't enforce it. Even when it is an option, they still shouldn't enforce it. They are just increasing unrecyclable waste.

Before we bash building codes to hell that might actually be better than none at all can we all agree no one should be building more housing when CA cant even supply basic needs now??? They lack the #1 thing needed for life........water.

Not a good idea to keep expanding an already failed state in my opinion.
