did you just prime over the powder coat?
I took it down to raw steel. I had some Sherwin Williams HD Chem Bond on it originally and that crap sucked for chips. Picture #1 is the paint and #2 is it stripped. Once I took it off I hit it again with a random orbit and 100 grit. Then cleaned it up and primed with Rustolium Pro Primer/rust stop. My neighbors a painter and recommended the SW paint to me. When I told him it sucked and chipped to shit he gave me some Benjamin Moore Super Spec Aliphatic Acrylic Urethane Gloss. Stuff needs to be mixed with a catalyst that he also gave me. Supposedly he uses it on handrails and other high traffic areas. The cans say "offers outstanding chemical and abrasion resistance combined with excellent color and gloss retention. The cured film on this coating equals the results of the best baked-on finishes, and provides outstanding impact and chip resistance. Performs well on high abuse floors." All I know is if this crap chips and rusts like the last stuff Ill never let this guy paint my house when I'm done with it.
