did you just prime over the powder coat?

I took it down to raw steel. I had some Sherwin Williams HD Chem Bond on it originally and that crap sucked for chips. Picture #1 is the paint and #2 is it stripped. Once I took it off I hit it again with a random orbit and 100 grit. Then cleaned it up and primed with Rustolium Pro Primer/rust stop. My neighbors a painter and recommended the SW paint to me. When I told him it sucked and chipped to shit he gave me some Benjamin Moore Super Spec Aliphatic Acrylic Urethane Gloss. Stuff needs to be mixed with a catalyst that he also gave me. Supposedly he uses it on handrails and other high traffic areas. The cans say "offers outstanding chemical and abrasion resistance combined with excellent color and gloss retention. The cured film on this coating equals the results of the best baked-on finishes, and provides outstanding impact and chip resistance. Performs well on high abuse floors." All I know is if this crap chips and rusts like the last stuff Ill never let this guy paint my house when I'm done with it.

Time to take the useless braces off. Since my light tabs are broken they weren't doing anything anyway + they looked like crap when the bumpers mounted.

Looks great!

Playing card trick is awesome, about 10x faster than trying to mask off the damn thing.

I just get paint on the rubber. It comes right off

I had a "show" the next day & was painting till 9pm the night before & that started cutting into beer time so no time to clean up the tires. The cards only take 1-2 minutes per wheel. The Duratracs bead is so tight I couldn't wedge them in there - they are only held by gravity.

First time a saw it that kid named Tala? did it at a wrench meet down in Houston.

The Unicom looks much better with black hoofs.

$6 and an hour = no more rash. They are far from perfect, but I could care less. I didn't sand or prime them but at $2 per can ill just re-spray them whenever they get rashed up again.

Just bought a new Bud Built gas tank skid for $175. Now I just need to drive to MD to grab it next week. Gotta love it when someone buys stuff then sells it unused locally. Craig grabbed up the belly skids for one hell of a deal. Think he is saving something like $250.

My buddy fixed up my rear bumper yesterday. Still need to take it off to get the rest done but it's a start. Ill take it off when I do the shackles.

He cut out the crack then cut/notched it at about 22* in both directions.

Spindle got cleaned out with a die grinder then welded up. My buddy said it had no penetration and looked like it was welded with 110.
