LOL, maybe so. I have a shit-load of zirks around... and allen head plugs. I still might do it before I install it. My main concern was to get it to a point where I could install it.

You know I looked for that UHMW stuff.. but it looked to be more of a project than I wanted to try on the first shot. Wasn't sure how thick I needed. But I do think I'll paint the inside of the outer tubing, and the outside of the inner tubing with the EZ-Slide. I was talking to my dad and he uses EZ-Slide on grain wagons and its pretty durable. Should hold up for the limited travel it will see.

that's funny, I was just going to mention that about the tractor implements that we use and grease up. Run those shafts dry for a few months and like HELL to separate the inner and outer

Well I don't think I'll be running it too hard so I 'should' be good to go. We'll see..

No, not at all. I plan to simply apply a coat of grease to the shafts when I slide them together. I thought about tapping the outer tube for zirks, and then when I don't need them I would remove them and install allen head plugs. But since its a low speed thrill ride and not used much, I think that I can just disconnect the pinion end and grease the shaft as needed. I also thought about painting the tubing with the graphite impregnated paint I have. http://www.tractorsupply.com/harves...z-slide-graphite-based-coating-1-gal--2120107

gotcha!

I think that disconnecting idea is gonna work until the first time you have to disconnect it to grease them, at which point it will end up on a drill press so you don't have to do it again. There was a guy on pirate who made one out of some larger material and sleeved it with UHMW I think that would be the ticket if you ever built another one.

:D

Painted my DS with Ez-Glide graphite lubricant. I painted the inside of the outer and the outside of the inner tube. Then I coated it with a nice layer of Mobil 1 grease. I still need to wipe some of the excess off. But damn it went together nice. I'm missing 4 more bolts... fawk! I had them in the garage somewhere... mis-placed them though. They are the old ones. I might just give Marlin another call and get 4 more... bend over!

Same exact wheel, only difference is this horn button works. Lol

It looks like a Bmx bike brake lever with the cable connected to the throttle. The throttle return spring was swapped out for a big dog. Not sure if that's really what it is, but it appears to be.
