So I left it on the charger overnight and I hooked up my big (4250 CCA Noco jump box) to it. Put the key in and turned... lights on the dash look good... but nothing.. not a blip! Starter shit the bed maybe? I smacked it with a wooden stick like we would do the ol 22R's and still nothing. Hmm..

I know the Tacoma starter area is tight but I would try two things. Check the voltage at the positive terminal at the starter when the key is turned making sure you have good supply voltage. If that’s good then try and jumper the start relay out with the screwdriver to bypass the start relay and see if it’ll spin and/or solenoid pull in. The starter sucks to replace in those trucks so I’d make sure I verify it’s the starter and not the battery/connections before having to rip it out.

So.. I disconnected my ground terminal on the battery (it was being charged from the plug in my dash by a 5A Noco trickle charger) and as soon as I disconnected it the underhood KC Cyclone lights lit up like they should! I then plugged the big Noco jump box to the ground wire and the positive connection. It fired right up. That battery is in a bad way! I'll go buy a new one tomorrow.

After watching a review of all types of batteries, I just bought a AGM battery from Walmart (online) of all places. It was highly rated and it was delivered to my doorstep within 2 hours. That's almost better than having AAA deliver one. $189 5 year warranty.

I have a dual post battery now but I am only using the second post on the ground side. I need to look at and see what it will take to have it all just use one post. Because I really like the idea of a sub $200 AGM vs the $450 dual post from Batteries Plus. I’ll check them out.

I think my Taco still has my Batteries Plus from your recommendation.

Now that I look at it, I wonder why the one that I bought for a bimmer has a 5 year warranty where the group 65 is 4yr replacement.

Did you put a group 65 in the Taco? I have a group 27 in it now but I am open to options.

Very cool. I was very happy with it. I got my moneys worth from it for sure.

Not sure what I have there. I will check later today. I'm still burring my Batteries battery. My current thoughts, mostly because I don't have much use for the winch these days, is to return to the stock size battery and put a 100AH litium in the back cubby to power the fridge and to use both if I ever do need the winch.

Well.. I went to Batteries Plus today and picked up the same thing I had before. I was going to do the standard AGM thing from Costco or WalMart but there is so much crap right around my battery and built into the battery hold-down, figured I would just stick with what I had. Not cheap... $490 out the door. I also picked up a couple different style battery terminals. Plan to clean those up a bit, which ever one I don't use will get sent back. Oh, I asked the guy at Batteries Plus if he could see when I bought that old battery. It was in 2015!! 11 years. Not a bad run.

Nice! My Odyssey made it 9 years. Ended up upsizing to a Group 65 since I'm not running a dual battery setup anymore and it was $500.

This one is a group 27, has 90Ah of storage. Installing it back in there sucked... damn near 70 lbs.
