First day on the new job and can't access the network.

In fact, I can't access anything. Well, I was able to log into the machine, but that is about it. First day after a holiday has me on a long hold with the help desk. Oh goody. I also don't have admin on this machine, so I can't change any settings myself.

But the paycheck has started so they are paying you to wait. Good times.

Yeah that's how my work has been for the past year for new hires. They have a complicated log-in procedure that changes every few months for first time users and they don't tell the managers about the updates. So I have to scramble to figure out the new procedure. Usually wastes a couple of hours of my day everytime.

So I signed the promotion offer for a new role at work. The title is "Operational Technology Manager" to work on standardizing and supporting the production sites' digital footprints and software catalogs. The offer came with a bonus and pay bump so I cannot complain really.

Thanks and yes. The team I am directly working with is targeted on 10 sites in North America, Europe, and Asia. There will be some travel to Asia but mainly NA and EU. The rest will be project management and working on defining the software catalog of services for the sites. Up next will be finding a PMP boot camp to attend.

It is a weird week. So they are not announcing it until next week officially. I get to spend the rest of this week working on the transition plan and looking up options for PMP boot camps.

I upgraded my office chair, I should be able to pick it up next week, I'm now CTL owner certified, the minimum hourly rate now is $100 and up.

I was informed that my upgraded air ride office seat is now on back ordered till December. WTH?
The standard office chair that comes with this machine will have to do for now. Order this almost 3 months ago, now that its arrived at my local dealer, Im waiting for a few upgrades(radio, back up camera, some armor, to be installed and it should be ready to pick up next week.

How’s the quality? They’re located a couple miles from my house but I’ve never stopped in to look at their covers.
