My first vehicle I was going to buy was a mid 60's Scout.. pretty much a basket case. I let it pass and bought a 67 Dart 2 door with a non-stock 318 instead. I wish I had bought the Scout. That Dart was a deathtrap. My ex-wife (GF at the time) rolled it. Luckily for her it was made from real steel. I got it back, kicked the roof out. The passenger mirror broke the vent window, duct tape over that. The battery came out of its tray and hit the fan and radiator. New water pump and dad soldered up the radiator. Good as new. 
I did cut the roof off of it that spring and then sell it to a guy who used it to haul his hang glider. Where the fuck he used a hang glider in central Illinois is beyond me. Whole fucking place is flat as fuck.

Well we cut the roof off with a torch at a friends shop. Wasn't a problem for about 30 minutes until a smoldering coal started some foam on fire in the back seat. Nothing a couple beers poured on it couldn't solve. But it was a very clean ride. Looked bone stock except the motor. It was by NO means a monster, just a very mild 318. But it was fun.

Oh.. didn't mention. In the 30 minutes we cut the roof off and the fire started we had drove about 15 miles... so it was on fire in the middle of no-where. Hence the use of beer. 
I was about to ask why high school kids poured beer (of any sort) on anything other than a chick.

Yeah, we saved opened old beers for the next weekend back then.
Back then? Hell I've done that a couple of times now. Some of these bombers cost +$15 so I'll stick a wine cork on it or recap it if I cannot finish it in one night.
