I "thought" they were overpriced, but if you're using them to make money why not have the best tools? Once I started to actually think about it, the costs over the life of a good tool can easily be negated by it working properly and the company backing it up for a lifetime of use. Just think of all the mistakes not made by having an accurate tool - sometimes those costly accuracy mistakes made using sub par tools can never be "made up".
I don't wear jewellery, but wanted a nice watch and being on time to meetings is critical for success at my job. I paid over 1k for a watch over 15 years ago. Was it overpriced for a watch? Sure. I could of bought a Timex for a fraction of the cost. 15 years later I doubt Timex would of replaced 2 batteries, replaced a crystal I scratched, fixed the links to the band numerous times, replaced all the seals each time it was serviced, and cleaned it for basically free (I pay UPS insured next day air there and back). Looking back in time it's the most beaten/abused tool I have and it still works like it did on day one. Ive made numerous fruitful deals because when I needed it to work - it did. I guess sometimes spending more to get more is actually a deal. TAG FTW!!!
