Man this website is dangerous... Some wicked cool wood working tools. Things are like working pieces of art.

Caution, sticker shock on most items!

WTF are the guys who buy those tools making with them?

Best part is they actually ship those tools out USPS and it says right at the bottom of their website expect 7-10 days delivery time and the packages aren't insured. Who pays over 3k for a plain then skimps on shipping it USPS non-insured.

Probably the same people that buy a $60k+ car and get a $60 tint job or pepboys oil change.

Or the guy that buys the $5,000 gaming computer and plays while dressed in is $2.50 ripped Walmart underwear. :)

That is all he can afford after dropping 5 large on a gaming PC. It is not like his mom is going to come down to the basement unannounced.

So the co-worker that told me about that Bridge City Tools place brought a few in. Apparently his dad had an amazing tool collection (Bridgeport mill... tons of machinists tools and woodworking tools. He built grandfather clocks as a hobby) anyhow, he has a ton of those Bridge City tools and they are even engraved with his dad initials and his member number. Apparently they have a membership program. But the co-worker is looking to sell some of them. Anyhow, some pics. Oh and he hasn't given me a price yet.

I would think their members forum would bring the most bang for your coworkers buck trying to re-sell them.

I agree.. I am curious as to how much he wants. I would like to have them but I would probably never use them.

They are art. Not tools - well, kinda.

I "thought" they were overpriced, but if you're using them to make money why not have the best tools? Once I started to actually think about it, the costs over the life of a good tool can easily be negated by it working properly and the company backing it up for a lifetime of use. Just think of all the mistakes not made by having an accurate tool - sometimes those costly accuracy mistakes made using sub par tools can never be "made up".

I don't wear jewellery, but wanted a nice watch and being on time to meetings is critical for success at my job. I paid over 1k for a watch over 15 years ago. Was it overpriced for a watch? Sure. I could of bought a Timex for a fraction of the cost. 15 years later I doubt Timex would of replaced 2 batteries, replaced a crystal I scratched, fixed the links to the band numerous times, replaced all the seals each time it was serviced, and cleaned it for basically free (I pay UPS insured next day air there and back). Looking back in time it's the most beaten/abused tool I have and it still works like it did on day one. Ive made numerous fruitful deals because when I needed it to work - it did. I guess sometimes spending more to get more is actually a deal. TAG FTW!!! lol

I agree about nice tools. I don't buy HF shit, but I also don't buy Snap On. I think a $15 framing square from Home
Depot probably works just as well as the $200 one they sell on that site. Now is it as pretty. Fuck no!! Not even close.

I also agree about the watch deal. I don't own a Tag but I have two very nice Seikos ( different colors) and two nice Citizens (ones a dive style watch). But I cycle through them pretty much daily. I like the Citizens better, they have that eco drive so no batteries.

I have a few tags with fucked up bracelets. I would never buy a watch like that again because (fill in blank here).

I do like a solar Sieko I have. :) I never wear it. :) :(

If I could have just half the money I spent chasing pussy and drinking - I would not be working now! lol
