Black Diamond Orbit Lantern

We've got one of these that works great in the tent. Hangs from the top cross bar, and with the dimmable lantern mode it's super handy around the campsite when you only want a little bit of light.
I have an old coleman light that's about the same design. Takes huge D cell batteries to work but I like that the batteries last forever and it puts out enough light that it doesn't blind you like the LED ones. Also, the light is a softer color so it doesn't attract as many bugs.

That's what we use. We also use our LED/Solar ones too. :)

Not that I have used mine yet, but the plan is to plug in some USB Luminoodle lights in the annex and I have a USB (appears to just be a lightbulb on a cord with a switch) above on one of the hoops. Use the remote for the loominoodle when we are climbing down in the dark (AKA taking a piss.. me). The dim light that it came with will be just for normal getting ready for bed shit.

Nice. I like the black ones. :) I picked these up at a Farm Supply shop in Bozeman last year. :)

Have any particular brand waterproofing you advise to use or not to use?

I was planning to call CVT and see what they recommend.

I ran into Kendal at @SecretSquirrel Rodeo BBQ awhile back. He recommended CampDry Waterproofing.

I've used the scotchguard tent waterproofing. You'll need at least 3 cans of it to cover the entire tent and rain fly. I'd recommend buying in bulk off Amazon, especially if it's the first time you're waterproofing the RTT. The first time, the tent really soaks up the spray and it takes more to cover an area.

Most the scotch guard type products contain some very nasty chemicals (PFOA- and PFOS), that we test in the military, I would use a mask and not breath the vapors or spray, just saying.

I would actually pay more for a product like Revivex and use a PFOA, PFOS free type product, bottom line do some reasearch, not worth to expose the types of chemicals to yourself or family.

Thanks for the info. It does smell like cancer when you're spraying it.

Well everyone already has some level of exposure already, no need to add to it...

Truth "PFCs contaminate the blood of virtually every American alive today."

As a guy that used to spend his weekends working with his brother using an air hose to clear all the asbestos from large brake drums, probably drank a gallon of gas siphoning, smoked non-filtered cigarettes for 10 solid years in my youth, I think my outcome would be the same if I waterproofed my tent with diesel fuel. :)

Oh the diesel smell, do they make a air freshener out of that?
