Still going to put on tabs for:

Dust lights (led flashers by Whacker), high center brake light/white flood combo, cargo lights and tabs for connecting the RTT or Bed Basket.

!

Saw this on Expo.. thought it was pretty slick. Something that I normally say to the waitresses at Bone Daddy's.. Nice rack!

That would be my guess. U figure they would atleast put a sweet looking bike up there since they got a nice looking setup goin on. Instead they put grandmas bike up there

Pardon me if I have mentioned this before, but the first year that I owned the M3, I was going biking on the coast and pulled in to a hotel with an awning and knocked the bikes over and a pedal digging in to roof. I looked at my friend and said, "He said I would be excited when I put the pedal to the metal in this baby!!! I just didn't know that's what he meant!!!" :)

That red truck is sweet looking - I think the top part is to feed giraffes!!! :)

OUCH! A friend of mine had his mtn bike on the roof of his Civic... one of those situations where the bike was worth more than the car. Anyhow, he hit the bike on something (don't recall what).. but I do know that it technically totally both the car and the bike. He kept the car without fixing it, just jacked up the roof real bad. Had to replace the frame/fork and some other parts on the bike. Ever since that I won't put my bike on the roof. I know I'll forget about it.

Yeah, the rack on that red truck has some nice lines. But it is a little tall.

Dragging up an old post on purpose - what configuration did you end up using for the RTT and is it still in use today? I am now looking for one and also have to find a good way to mount it to my 3rd gen 4R.

Mine has long bolts that go through the platform into some flat channel. Basically it's a U-bolt that hooks around the metal tube.

Same. Works great. I built my rack with square tubing and it seats nicely. No idea if it makes a difference or not but it does not move and I rock the shit out of it.

I call mine the 100 mph tent. My rack and tent live on my truck 98% of the time. I beat the living crap out of my setup off road - ooops I mean, I baby it and never exceed 15 mph off road. The weak point is the aluminum extrusion with the captive nut. My tent was lost on a trail one time!

Yup. Mine is m0unted all the time now. Nothing has come loose or anything. I still haven't sex tested the tent yet. Chick I took to Colorado was acting as bear bait for the week.

Within the first week of owning my RTT I tried to sex test it but the neighbors dog bit me and jumped out of the tent.
