I have a food order to pick up tonight and tomorrow morning(Hurricane Preparation for late in the month of Mayo_O), no food shortage here and I’m not dealing with any possible future chaos in the stores later.

Precooked rice is a staple of my pantry. It has a OK shelf life of 2+ years, is organic, and helps you mix up the dehydrated meals. Just add a little meat/protein of your choice and you have a good/balanced meal. All you need to do is heat it up.

I'm sure raw rice woul dbe better for large stockpiles, but I'm one person and I use my "emergency food" as normal food I eat...except for the mountain house stuff - that stuff I don't need to rotate stock on because most of mine is good past 2045

I stockpile carbs. They last pretty long and it's all about calories and carbs for my meals. The rice also offsets the high sodium content of the dehydrated meals.

Also - you guys have a kick ass company in TX that I think is MUCH better than mountain house.... Packit Gourmet Backpacking Meals and Groceries
Little pricey and they don;t have the shelf life of mountain house, but it is what it is when you don't want to eat chemicals you can't even pronounce the names of.

Every person I’ve ever talked to about shtf have all said they will just go in the woods and hunt deer/pigs for meat. I’m certain every person with a rifle is going to be thinking the same thing when good supply gets low. I bet every furry animal in the woods is dead within a month of people starting to starve.

Their will be a lot of people killed over cattle and water. If you have cattle and water you better have the means to defend them day and night.

Safety in numbers and survival in movement. If the SHTF that bad I am not staying at my house. I already know a couple places off the beaten path with no permanent people that will serve well as a base.

Getting out of NJ if it was really bad poses many logistical issues. Got the Atlantic to the East and South, NYC North, Philly to the West, with Delaware river crossings being my only access to the west.

Best plan short of a tsunami issue for me is is to head East, steal some rich schmuck from Philly's Yatch in Atlantic City, then stay 20 or so miles off the coast while heading North to the islands off Nova Scotia

Hard to avoid the masses from DC, Baltimore, Philly, and NYC when I'm cock blocked in the middle of them all within 2-1/2hrs driving distance

1. Best way to survive a fight is to avoid a fight.

2. Nobody has enough anything anywhere to dig in long enough to outlast the unknown.

3. Survival in numbers is key. Civilization did not happen because people decided putting up with each other was a good enough idea.

#3 will always be my issue. I'm pro seclusion / anti social by nature at this point in my life. Ill be the guy living/dying in the sewers feeding from the scraps of the civilization lol

The mass in numbers is the reason for the spread of the virus.

You are probably right. The guys that changed my mind on the topic were just SF types. But tell me more how you plan to have a squad that can assault, a triage and medical unit to treat any injuries, and then reinforcements while the others are healing up.

Or we can bypass the fight and keep everyone healthy. We can think like a small team in a mixed friendly/hostile environment and try to keep the footprint low and contact to a minimum.

Maybe you should do one right after one of those gay cruises. Those gay guys always seem to be so clean! I wonder what the uptick of fecal matter is after those cruises!
