Synthetic winch rope

Anyone ever see one of these? It must be an English thing!

This illustrates someone putting a heat shield on the entire line.

If you are not going to be watching where the rope is on the rollers (ensuring you don't rip your winch line) you may want to get these too! About $40 at 4wd but I picked mine up for about 25 when there was a sale.

I bought webbing from REI to do the same thing. Similar to this but I bought it in silver http://www.rei.com/product/752375

I 'tried' to slide the entire 30' length over the line. There was 4 of us pulling/sliding/fighting/cussing and we couldn't get it past about 20'. I ended up cutting the webbing in half and sliding 15' over the line. It worked great for about 6 months, then it got shredded. I think it would have lasted longer if it was a little tighter on the rope. The 1" webbing makes a nice hollow tube but it was just a little big for the 5/16's line to move around in.

the syntetic Promark rope is arrived.. this weekend I test it...and I leave here some Reviews... from this "rope"...
I buy some Chafe Gaurd too.. but arrived next week .. "shipping problems"... I'll try this way, without the Gaurd...

]I would stay away from both of those honestly[/COLOR]. Check out www.masterpull.com. I am running their Superline and its amazing stuff. It has a breaking strength of 21000 pounds.

Viking also makes a good product, although I'd lean toward Masterpull over Viking. http://www.vikingoffroad.com/

For comparison, the stock steel cable that came on my Warn M8000 was rated at 9000 pounds, the Viking 5/16th's line is rated at 13,600 pounds, and the 5/16th's MasterPull SuperLine is 21000 pounds.

1 hour ago I test the synthetic rope, with my Taco... and is broke...my winch died (baterie) .. and than the rope broke, I think it was too strength for the rope...

shiiit.... = 140us in the trash... "I already know Sean, you said it )

soooo... now to buy some 3/8 masterpull!!!

I make 2 test...., the first test was ok... the second test, broke it... some pics...

Nice selection... you won't break that stuff. Just be careful when winching over rocks, it is not as durable as steel and you can cut it. But in the sand you should have no problems at all.

I have more sand here, and some hard sand, but they are not rocks...and some bush and something like that... but I still to take care...

for my is it expensive.... 600us... is almost a double minimum salary $$$ from a worker here...
I hope it's a good thing,because I wanted to buy some replacement parts for my taco.. and now I buy some syntetic rope!! if my dad it knows hes killed me...
