Got a new bench to clean up guns and tinker with them on. I like it. Needs a vice though. Drawers are nice to organize all my shit in.

I got to use the bench for what its intended the other night. Using @Anathollo's advice I Froglubed the new AR. Need to Froglube the other new weapons I haven't shot next. (700 and 870). Ordered this vice for it. https://amzn.com/B015KP2F5M

Nice! Make sure you do 3 treatments each using a heat gun. Then it's damn near maintenance free :)

Good to know.. I used a heat gun but only did one treatment so far.

He texted me the information. Basically its a non-patroleum based lube (smells awesome) that for best results you heat up the parts before you coat them with it. You also have to degrease any components prior. Then wipe down after about 90 minutes... only bad thing I've read and know a friend who it happened to was this. On Nib (Nickel Boron) components, in my buddies case the BCG, it caused the NiB coating to just flake off. Disputes about it being a bad NiB coating or the Froglube can be found on both sides. I don't have anything NiB to worry about.

And as hot as it is out today I don't even think I'll need to use a heatgun to warm up the metal... just let it sit outside for a bit.

Will have to check it out for my non NiB bolts. Do you coat just the bolt of all the action pieces?

Yes... anything in the BCG/barrel gets coated. Even the trigger assembly if you have one you can disassemble. @Anathollo can speak better to what is required though.

Basically just strip everything down as best you can and get all the original petroleum gun lube off. Then using a heat gun or blow dryer, heat up the parts until it's almost too hot to touch and then apply frog lube to the entire part. The lube will sink into the metal and you can let it cool down to normal temps. Then wipe the excess off and then repeat the same process above two more times. This is the most time intensive part but once you've done this, all you'll need to do in the future is wipe everything down (it comes off so damn easy too :) ) and maybe use a very light coat of froglube to lube it again.

If it dries and gums up, you've applied too much froglube to that part and you need to wipe it down.

I love it because it smells nice and I can clean parts in the living room next to the wife and she doesn't mind since it smells like mint.

Edit: There is a lot of hate for this product online and I have no idea why. I guess some guys can't let go of their hoppes gun lube or some shit. "My granpappy used it and my pappy used it, so fuck you, you're wrong" seems to be a lot of the arguments online lol

Do you use the liquid or the paste? I have both but I need to get some small brushes for the paste.

I use both. I use the paste to apply the first three coats and the gel to do light applications.

Started working on some 80% billet lowers last night. Maybe a couple of 300 blackouts or shortys.
