The BS Thread v2

Had an Amazon delivery today. I was outside so I got the package directly from the driver. I was making small talk as they took a photo of the package and whatnot. Anyhow, lady said she had 210 addresses to deliver to. Not 210 packages, 210 stops! I'm just thinking of the wear and tear on the starter and the load on the battery with only having maybe a minute between shutting down again.
Think about all those cars that have the auto start stop at every street light and stop sign...

When I get in the wifes XC90 I immediately set the ride to Dynamic, the air ride lowers the vehicle, it firms up the corners and makes it shift better... but mostly because it turns that bullshit auto stop/start shit off. I can go through the Sensus and disable it but its easier with the ride control switch.

Most vehicles have a button on the dash to kill that nonsense.

Not a Volvo. Its in the Sensus (the digital display unit).. its very nice but they don't make the start/stop easy to get to. Easiest is just to turn the ride mode to Dynamic and it sets it for me. Plus makes it more enjoyable to drive aside from that.

I tried to take advantage of some decent weather and time to do some slow speed drills on my Yamaha. The ground behind my house had other ideas.

This tire is getting replaced soon as possible. It has crap for traction.

If you go the left app screen, there should be a button there to permanently disable the start stop BS in any mode. It'll save it to your key profile.

Nope. it only disables it until you shut off the vehicle. I will dig into it more about saving it to the key profile though.

Today looks like a good day to skip work and go ride the motorcycle. On a similar note; I am leaning towards getting a "new" rear axle for my 4Runner and gusseting it before install. I can sell my e locker 3rd for at least $400 or $500 so that will off set a bit of the cost. The more I try to stop these axle seals from leaking the more they seem to leak. I am not ready to go full build with a custom rear axle yet.

I've been eyeballing this one for mine.

Just sent that to Jason. He had another Tom woods driveshaft fail that took out his rear diff and T-case again. This time he went with a two piece driveshaft hoping it'll stop this from happening a 3rd time. I'm thinking he might have a bent rear axle at this point. But he's only a year or two away from getting a full-size pickup and then just using the Tacoma as a trail/ranch rig. His frame is rotting away like mine.
