Of course if I'm on a tractor, my feet are inches away from 200* degree + transmission also.

Yup, agree.

No breeze and heat index 105, is just miserable. Starting tomorrow at 11am.

One month until Colorado. Temps are expected to be 75 in the day and 50 at night. Looked at the weather there last night. It was 82 here at 10pm, it was 46 there. Wish we could stay up there longer but the wife will hopefully be starting a new job the week after (she has a ride-along this coming Tuesday to make sure it’s a good fit, and then the decision will be made) so we’re driving back on a Saturday instead of staying until Monday like originally planned. Luckily the manager at the new job is cool and was more than willing to let her push her start date a week so we didn’t have to cancel the vacation. She’ll finish out her two weeks at her current job, take a week off for vacation and then start the new gig when we get back. It’s a good pay raise and better benefits but she’s going to be driving to downtown Dallas every day. But she said she’d rather be miserable in an hour and a half of traffic everyday than be miserable for 8-10 hours of work everyday like she is now.

Wife was offered and accepted her new gig today. Putting in her notice on Monday. Her last day will be the 19th of next month and she’ll start the new one on the 29th. She’s been wanting away from her current company for years but could never find the right fit, glad she finally did.

The Tenere 700 is prepped and ready so tomorrow morning I can head out on a 650 mile two day trip. The route is almost 75% dirt roads or worse trails with as little pavement as possible to connect the dirt. Tomorrow night we are staying at a hotel in Marble Falls and then riding from Round Mountain to Mason to San Saba before heading home. If the ride goes right it may make for a chill ride for the 4Runner some day too.

Already planning to stay hydrated and try to be off of the low speed areas by 2p each day.

606 miles later made it home. I dropped my bike twice and my buddy dropped his twice. I am glad I have crash bars, he is pissed his are on back order. It is pretty open and awesome country between Marble Falls and Mason via dirt roads. At one point we looked over and had ostriches on the Star S Ranch running alongside of us. Long days of riding but worth it. Also I have to learn to evaluate water crossings on two wheels vs four.

Yessir! My mom's grill got blown over so only one of the burners was working right. It's so old and rusted out so it made it challenging to grill hot dogs and burgers for 20 people lol. My sister and I split the cost of a new 3-burner Weber grill to surprise my mom for a Christmas present. It was on sale today.

Watching the fireworks from the end of our pier.
