"What some Biologists don't know, can put a farmer/rancher/land owner in trouble."
^^^X2. The biologist that my former coworker dealt with on his property was an asshole with no empathy. It's too much to go into but he had my coworker pulling out his hair over stupid bullshit and my coworker eventually had to pay fines for some stuff I'm not gonna disclose on the internet.
Yes sir, I know and helped two folks who had to unphuck the mess a free state biologist suggested.
**The first thing I ask folks when they want to convert their property over to wildlife valuation.***
Do you want the county Tax Assessor to access your property?!?
When a land owner uses the Wildlife valuation, you open the door for the tax man to enter to verify such activities in the mangement plan, by agreeing to the special tax valuation. If the county reaches out to the land owner, you can refuse, but its highly advise NOT to refuse entry. So if the land owner has improvements that can't be seen by aerial photography, you bet the tax man on the ground will take notice. A refusal can potentially trigger roll back of taxes.
If the tax man reaches out to me(under Ag exemption; livestock), I can refuse entry, and tell them to pound sand, without any repercussions. Because the land use can be verified by aerial observation.
@tex
I would like to know if any of this information was brought up to your family's attention when they converted over to Wildlife.
