That sucks but 239k isn't a bad run.

yeah I can’t really complain. I hope all it is is the clutch and not something internal to the transmission though. Never had a clutch explode before, usually just a slow slip over time to give me notice it’s time to replace in the near future. CV axles all looks good. Ordered up an OEM replacement tonight Exedy clutch and luk flywheel from rock auto. Guess while I’m in there I’ll replace the rear main seal, change the trans fluid again as well and finally replace the front wheel bearings that have been sitting on my work bench for the better part of a year lol

Well after doing the teardown, it turns out the passenger side axle shaft snapped right where the damper was at and it wasn't able to be easily seen on the side of the road, never seen an axle shaft snap like that in a low HP car lol. Oh well, I had the parts already so with almost a 1/4 million miles on the drivetrain I figured why not move forward with refreshing the drivetrain; I got a good bit apart tonight. Waiting on some new flywheel and pressure plate bolts from the dealer, along with exhaust flange nuts,LBJ castle nuts, rear main seal and exhaust pipe seals.

I decided to change wheel bearings so yanking the hub apart seems to be the easiest way to separate from the bearing.

release bearing not looking too great

Clutch actually looked really good for this many miles, hardly tell the difference from the new one, in fact it might just be a tad thicker (that's what she said) lol

Still stupid jealous of having a proper garage with lift to work on these projects.

I am spoiled and I know it lol, it’s amazing how much work you can get done with the right tools and setup, and being able to work indoors and warm. I was reading quotes that shops charge anywhere from 2-3k for a clutch job on this car. I’m probably into it for $1k and that includes new wheel bearings as well, plus a couple extra tools and a case of beer lol

Snapped a CV axle? That's nuts! All those racing launches you've been doing have burned up the clutch and snapped an axle lol JK

These fucking kamado grills are not meant for transporting. Been considering selling my gravity smoker and swapping over to a kamado but wanted to smoke on one first. So I borrowed my dad's and brought it home to smoke a turkey breast for dinner at my in-laws' tonight. Considering if I buy one to just have it delivered to his house and I'll take this one since it's already at my house. I don't want to move it again.

Yeah there's no way I could get my arms around it to bear hug it and pick it up. And there's only one good spot to use as a handhold. Somehow me and my wife managed to get it loaded/unloaded on our own.
