Wtf....that'd be a dead dog if it did that shit at my house

agreed. I have zero patience for destructive animals/pets.

She’s just started being afraid of thunderstorms randomly and no one was home during this one. She went in the front bedroom looking for me or my wife and the door closed behind her. Tried to dig her way out. My MIL found her later when she came to feed the dogs. There was already a seam under that door that had curled up a couple times so it’s not a surprise it tore up that easy. I’d be mad if we didn’t already have money saved up for new floors. Just changed plans on which end of the house we are going to start on.

Good luck with her.

New stove for the rent house came in. Got it on sale during memorial day. This is probably too nice of a stove for a rent house but it was only $30 more than the cheapest natural gas stove they had at Home Depot.

My wife was not overly thrilled that I elected to do that over some other projects that she has been requesting, but I think that adds more value than a few of the others. I suppose I'll be working on some of the other requests now....

The laundry room is upstairs (something about people in GA love having the laundry room upstairs....) and right next to another living area. As the kids get older, I figure it makes sense to have a more functional laundry room and somewhere to wash hands that isn't a bathroom.

Yeah, have to make sure the project sprints keep the end users happy. Otherwise they revolt and nothing makes them happy.

Painters should be finishing painting today. We can probably start moving in this coming weekend but in reality I'll be cleaning the house and doing little knick knack shit.

I replaced all of the air filters in the house. They were caked over with dust. I also installed all of the door levers today.

My mom has been cleaning the house (she loves cleaning).

I got the master vanity in. I've got to drill the holes for the sink faucet and install the backsplash.

The USB/power strip works!

And I got a hundred other little items done today.

Unfortunately I'm going to make my painter come back to sand and re-paint all of my trim. The paint job they did on my trim is among the worst I've ever seen. Absolutely unacceptable with the amount of paint runs, over spray, areas that needed to be sanded and on a lot of trim it only has one coat of paint. So 1 step forward and three steps back sadly.

But doing it right is worth it in the long run. I wish I knew back then what I know now. My house would have had a few small but important details fixed before I moved in.

Yep, I told my painter that I know my house isn't the Taj Mahal but the amount of mistakes, fuck-ups and just general "don't give a shit, it's not my house" work is unacceptable.

Lack of maintenance but me in the ass as usual. After making it through the night with the thermostat set on 70 and it never getting below 77 in the house, I got up at 6 and went outside to clean my condenser coils. Fuck they were nasty. One of those things that kept getting out-prioritized by other stuff because “it’s a new unit”. So after a deep clean, the AC is cooling like it should again. We’ll see how it holds up this afternoon when we get up near triple digits.

Dude, just hit it with the hose top to bottom every time you mow. It's what I do.
