Just ordered some solar powered rope lights for outside. It looks like I am about to be doing some landscaping at the request of my sandwich maker. I will try to get some before/ after pics of all this. If it comes out like she is thinking it will look pretty good.

I did that outside as well. Put a very long strand all the way around the pergola and then 2 smaller strands that resemble those "Edison bulbs" in the garden area across a wire strung between two decorative posts.

Like how it turned out? Anything you would do differently? And what is it about Edison bulbs being so popular now?

I like it.... I'll have to take some new pics. One of the strands of the Edison bulbs is out though... I need to go check why... its only a couple moths old.

Those things are too expensive to go bad that fast. I am looking to use the rope lights on the inside of the border to provide back lighting towards the front of the house and under the rock retaining wall so as to provide some light in that area at night. The end goal is to add some curb appeal while reducing dark areas around the house at night. A recent increase in break ins in bugging me.

I hear ya! Not impressed. Hoping its just something simple... like its turned off. lol I wish I had put in some outlets around the base of the house outside on a single switch for landscape lights. I put outlets in each corner of the eves for Christmas lights though.

Ordered the cheapest solar LED lights I could find on Amazon just to test if I liked the way it looked around the house at night. It looks pretty decent I think and the sandwich maker approves so I will probably order some much better quality lights to go in permanently. Sadly no pics as these lights are not that good.

Metal Miller installed 4 of these can lights in his office at his house. They are super nice & cheap.

4 per a regular size room is enough

Nice... I need about 5 more in our main living area. Wife was opposed to more "can" lights when we built the house. But now I'm pulling an Obama and just going to do it and make it into law bypassing everything else. I need to hire an electrician, not because I don't know how, but because I don't want to do it. Its got 18" of insulation above the ceiling and they need to drop another line down the wall for a switch. :)

Saturday, I went to home depot and spent a ton of money getting stuff for the house. Installed a Nest 2. Did some plumbing work. Did a lot of electrical work. Installed a lot of piddly house things. Yelled at two different contractors for not finishing their scope of work.

Sunday, I spent 10-1/2 hours working on the rent house garage door trying to level it and installing a new Ryobi garage door opener. The garage is out of level by quite a bit which makes leveling the garage door really difficult. Well, time to call someone who does this all the time since I used up my bag of tricks. lol that sumbitch just will not close correctly and causes the door to "jump" which stops the garage door opener. Needless to say, it was a frustrating sunday...
