Wired in a couple of LED flood lights on my house yesterday. Now I don't have huge dark spots around my property at night.

In the interest of streamlining tasks I finally have my sandwichmaker copying me when doing laundry. Instead of measuring out the soap into a cup and then pouring the cup into the wash I have a better way.

I pull the soap container out enough to clear the cabinet, give the dispenser a 3 count directly into the wash basin, and then put it back. I now have more free time to do something else.

But now where will the bad man "touch you" in private? :)

Just throw these fuckers in there.. boom.. done. My 7 year old has been doing it for years... yes I know.. I'm making a good sandwich maker.. what they don't know is that she will also know how to use all the tools in the garage and shoot guns. Plus she is cute.. maybe a future Ms America? :) "For my talent I will be building a set of sliders out of .120 wall DOM tubing, bending them through a JD2 bender and then notching using a Hypertherm plasma, yes you can use a notcher but I prefer the plasma.. anyhow...I'll follow it up with my dads old Miller 215 and presto.. sliders."

I hate outside flood lights, before you know it you can't see the stars anymore. More and more of my neighbors are putting out lighting. We can see the stars really good at our house, but I'm afraid as more folks install outdoor lighting that is not neighbor friendly the stars will eventually will not be seen....

I like motion lights that stay on for 10min or so, this what I plan on replacing at my house, and lights that direct downward and not out everywhere. I may incorporate a few led under the roof line/soffit.

I plan on buying a few mirrors and place them in trees where the reflection hits back at one my neighbors, it will remind them about their lights and if they continue to leave it on, they will have a harder time seeing my yard and watching me bury the bodies in the back yard, hehe

I don't have that problem. I live in the city so I couldn't see the stars anyways. :( I'll explain it better when you come down and see the house in person.

But on the flip side, I can flip one light switch and they all turn off. So there's that...

EDIT: ALL of my flood lights are motion sensor activated. I have one of them that stays on full time that lights the yard and the corner of the street for people to see when driving.

Finally someone with similar OCD about light pollution to my own. I H8 that shit at home and even worse when camping. You bring a halogen lamp or a propane lamp out to our camp and chances are you'll leave with a broken lamp and some cash in your pocket. I changed my lanterns over to non-pressurized wick "Old school" style and even they are too bright some nights. Humans see very well at night with little/no need for aux lighting in most situations once you take time to let your eyes adjust. Walk around camp with one of those bright ass headlamps shining in everyone's eyes and you'll also get yelled at.

I build a 15' wide x 10' tall wall at the end of my deck because my neighbors are afraid of the dark and always keep their flood lights on. If I wasn't a law abiding citizen I would of shot them out years ago. Instead now I call him and bitch wich works when he is awake - not so much when I get home late and want to enjoy some time in my backyard.

I've been looking for one of them for years. Problem is most break down within the first few months. They need to be built better and come with longer warranties on the new models. They just don't make them like they used to.

And my experience is that 75% of all skylights are flashed incorrectly too. Do you know how many I have seen installed with ZERO flashing? Freaking 'handymen'

Skylights...I made up a saying for customers years ago that I stole part of from my motorcycle days...."it's not 'if' the skylight will leak it's when".

Except when I put them in. :) I have a friend who has one I put in 25 years ago. Still dry. :)
