Turning it into a party hammock for 3?

When I saw it, I thought he must be thinking of hanging 2 or 3 between those beasts.

Got the flat tire off.. this would explain why its shot. Yeah I did the sidewall patch a while back and it held but I didn't notice the sidewall dry-rot until now. Its a 2009 model JD with only 102 hours on it. Tires don't know that though. I think I might look for some front tires now. Might as well get it ready.

On my current catch up plan, those things would be ready for another 10 years of use. I don't think we ever changed the tires on our old Simplicity riding lawn mower.

Main structure of the hammock stand is done. Ran some 2x8s across the top held in place with some 5/16" lag screws. I'm pretty happy with how it looks.

Unfortunately the cheap hammock I got off Amazon sucks. It was supposed to be an 11' hammock, and I think it was 13'. I tied up the ends to make it the right length, but that just made the middle saggy. Gotta find a better one. It's a little disappointing after spending all that time on the stand that the hammock itself isn't comfortable.

On the plus side, you can take the hammock off and use that as an engine hoist or a hoist for anything else... Looks good though!

I mowed & weed eated the lawn yesterday. It finally dried up enough to mow. I did a maintenance and macgivering to both. I need to order a new air filter, change the oil and sharpen the blades on the lawnmower.

Also cut down all the branches that were rubbing or coming close to my house.

Lastly, had a plumber come out to repair a water line he put in on one of my mom's rent houses last month. The connection at the city's water connection had a decent leak on it.

In my shed I have a 20 watt solar panel that keeps an old Die Hard Platinum topped off. It intern them powers some led strip lights in the shed. Its a 2 channel solar charge controller so I have the other channel keeping the riding mower's battery topped off. I used to just have a QD plug under the hood but when I put the bagger on it last week I found the ability to open the hood in the shed is gone... mower is pushed up too close to some shelving. So I added this to the side of the mower. Works great, even has a power meter built in. I have two more of these for the Taco.. once I get around to installing them.

Check out a nylon hammock. They are about 200% more comfortable than rope and you can get any color or fabric you want for about $42. 11 ft. Netless Hammocks

Since the posts are so close together youll need to keep an eye on what you buy. If the angle of the dangle is off it will never be comfortable. Looking for 30* on your cordage as a sweet spot.

If you ever get a roof done by a contractor, go for a roofing company not just someone that can do roofs. I have been attempting to get a contractor to fix a 1/4" square hole of missing caulk in a vent. It's been 6 weeks and the fucking lazy asses can't make a call to an 80 year old woman. Good contractors are hard to find. I would also have them put in writing that they will respond within 5 days or will pay the you $500. If they are good at customer follow up and servicertainly calls they will agree to it. If they are just good, they may not.

Always amazes me when I call around for quotes and it takes 5 calls or more to get someone to call you back... and another 5 calls to others to get someone to show up! Had the wind knock down some fencing about a year ago. Called this guy who was recommended by others. I called and spoke to him on the phone we had agreed on a price and what day he would show up. I had a funny feeling about it. Sure enough, he never showed up... never called. My calls to him went unanswered. Oh well... starve asshole.

Agreed on a price on a job he never laid eyes on. That is a good sign of something I would not want to get involved in.

It was replacing two fence posts and the 6' section between them.. pretty straight forward.

Always amazes me when I call around for quotes and it takes 5 calls or more to get someone to call you back... and another 5 calls to others to get someone to show up! That right there. IN ANY BUSINESS - but contractors are some of the worst.

Totally agree.. I see it the worst in contractors. My go-to-guy has been doing work for me since about 2008. Does awesome work, sticks to his quotes even if he underbid it. He is more $$ than others that I call but I can count on him and to me that is worth the extra $$. He bid a patio extension for a friend of mine. He was more $$ than the other bid my friend got so he went with the lower price... project turned out "ok".. not great. He had a couple of the concrete forms blow out and the curved patio edge was now sorta squared off. IMO I would have spent the extra $$ and got what I wanted.

Great no visible deflection, super easy to load. Still happy with it.

In all seriousness, though, part of the motivation for building it so heavily is we'd be able to adapt it to a porch swing frame pretty easily. Or it may get integrated into a swing set or something, who knows.

Someone (I don't remember who) makes a nylon camping hammock with spreaders. My cousin has one. I could also him if you're interested. After my nylon hammock, I don't think I could ever be comfortable in a rope hammock.
