Lost this monster yesterday. Water in the soil made it give way. It was our biggest water oak on our property. :( And it was my favorite treerat killing zone. For some reason tree rats love stopping on it. Guess what my day will consist of today? lol

Sharpened the lawn mower blade, trimed some bushes, cleaned out some flower beds and removed another bed of Asian Jasmine ground cover. I hate the shit and the previous owners had so much of it.
Not sure what will go in its place but I will figure it out and it will be low to no maintenance.

The yard will look a lot bigger without that stuff. What about doing a rock garden type setup next to the house? Low maintenance and it will look good.

I think I am going to end up doing something similar with part of my front yard so as to hide a French drain right by my house. The yard slopes down to the slab and in heavy rains it builds up faster than it can drain away.

Update on the vacant house across the street. City came and put 2 notices on the door to mow and clean up the yard as well as the pool.
Yesterday they issued a ticket for the pool and tapped it to the door. The name on it is the old man that lived there so now I'm thinking the family may have abandoned the house.
Wonder how long the city will let it sit like it Is?

Nice! Maybe buy it cheap and flip it?

I don't know if I want to mess with trying to flip it. It needs a lot of work from being neglected for the last 25 years.
I'm guessing it needs $60-$70k of work to get it to where it needs to be. The house would probably sell for $250k so I would feel okay about buying it for $150k to allow room for unknown issues and some profit.
Needs roof, floors, kitchen, 3 bathrooms, windows, pool refinish and pumps and landscape.

Finished mounting my vise last night (don't mind the overspray. I'll be replacing the MDF top with a welding table setup in the near future). Also mounted some small drawer units for stuff I use alot (electrical tape, gloves, etc), mounted my Wera screwdriver sets and started getting my movable toolbox ready. The wife told me to put the new headunit in my truck this weekend, so I guess I'll be doing that lol

Best part is they signs were free, my dad got them from his work. Apparently they bought the model without battery backup which is against their code so they were just going to throw them out lol so I wired these up with some left over MC cable I had when I did the rest of the shop. Free mods are the best ones :)

Wait - do you actually have to have that in a private shop?

I don't think so, they came and did the final inspection a few months ago and never said anything but I had the signs so figured what the hell haha. I picked up a full size traffic light I'm going to be mounting tomorrow, going to bend some tube and make a flange mount, these fuckers are big!
