I saw a pic a long time ago where someone had cut a hole in the garage door for the unitI'm not sure what I will do with the old one. It's a little unit rated for 150 square feet. Thought about the garage but its brick walls on both sides.
couldn't find it thoughMy inlaws neighbor did that. He has 2 garage doors. His garage is actually amazing for how small it is. He was a former engineer for Lincoln welders and holds several patents. Right now he has a small plane in the garage he is building. It has a Subaru WRX motor in it.I saw a pic a long time ago where someone had cut a hole in the garage door for the unitcouldn't find it though
What was stopping me from shitting in the yard before?
I want your tractor.

that tree looks like it needs some major attention. Trunk not look so healthy. Next time I'm over I can operate on her so long as I can see strait.
Every outside job is better with a tractor![]()

You need somewhere for the heat to escape too (outside). You also need somewhere for the water line to drain too as well.Just build a window frame out of 2x4s and put it on casters. That way you could roll it over to wherever you are working.
I have plans for the garage to insulate the attic above and the garage door. I scored a big swamp cooler from my neighbor for free. You need somewhere for the heat to escape too (outside). You also need somewhere for the water line to drain too as well.
@tex have you thought about getting a quote from a brick mason to cut a hole in one side of your garage to put in an A/C unit? Might be worse the extra cost.

If I did an AC it would probably be cheaper to get a portable unit and run the duct tube through the ceiling and roof instead of dealing with brick.
^^^^ This!! My F-in-Law loves his AC like that in his detached garage. It keeps it at an easy 75 degrees all day. I was helping him move some stuff around with the roll up door open and the majority of the garage was still pretty cool compared to outside. His bill for the detached garage is still pretty cheap even with the AC running a lot.
You are correct in that being a much better option if I installed AC in the garage. May just do the insulation and fans and see how it goes.View attachment 10802 https://www.homedepot.com/p/MRCOOL-DIY-12-000-BTU-1-Ton-Ductless-Mini-Split-Air-Conditioner-and-Heat-Pump-115-Volt-60-Hz-DIY-12-HP-115A/207085060

"Why do you want to return this fan sir?" "It...uhhh.. was broken when I opened the box..."Well crap.. one of my "medium ass fans" took a shit today in the garage. Went out there and turned on the lights, it flashed and made a BRZZZ noise and shuddered. Thats all she wrote. Its not under warranty any longer but I was going to call tomorrow and see if I can buy some parts to fix it. Then I looked on Lowes.com and they have them on sale. Score. So I'll buy one and then still call the place tomorrow. What ever is cheaper stays.
