Agreed.. neighbor next door floods his upstairs bathtub and it leaks into your place. Fuck that.
One of my electricians just had his town house burn down right before Christmas. The townhouse next door caught fire and burned so quick that he barely had time to grab his kids and get out of his house before it was engulfed. They lost everything except for the PJ's they were wearing.

My Ex's mom used to live in a townhouse and I spent a lot of time there in college. I could hear when the dude next door opened the fridge in his townhouse.

y'all are making me glad I didn't buy a townhouse as a temp solution to the living situation in GA.
Yeah they are also really hard to re-sell as well unless you live in a high demand area.

HOA.... yea thats one thing that might make me rethink my opinion all by itself. Just got a flash back to 15 years ago dealing with a chick I was living with's HOA. Water was backing up into her house through her sliding door when it rained due to some crappy new landscaping they put in with a horrible grade to the beds. I brought the issue to their attention and it hit a sore spot. After a few weeks/floods I ended up fixing it and getting her in trouble.

My HOA has sent me two letters in the last 5 years. One said my grass was too tall to include a photo of my house. I replied and said "Yes you are correct, that grass is WAY too tall.. almost as tall as the grass in the empty lot next to my house. Which has weeds as tall as my fence. Can I expect you to take care of that. Oh and one more thing, that't not my house... but the lot next to me still needs to be mowed!" Second one was similar.. you left your trash can out for <x> number of days to include a photo. Which I replied "Absolutely correct, that trash can appears to be left out.. but again you have the wrong house. Should I send you a photo of the front of my house?" No reply with either. Dipshits.

My brother was moving into a rent house with a U-Haul truck and he got a warning from the HOA that Box trucks are not allowed to be parked in the neighborhood. The truck was only there for a day! Then he ended up buying a house down the street and was using the family trailer to move his stuff over to the new house from the rent house and he got another warning about having a trailer parked in the driveway!

Dang what kind of asshat HOA is that? The POA I live in works hard to work with people while holding to the basic idea of the association's purpose.

I had my old Ford in my driveway and my '87 4Runner beside my house for years and never received so much as letter from the office. Most comments were compliments on the truck and Toy.

My house is 3300 with a 1375 sq ft garage. If it was just me I could easily have culled it down to 2 bedrooms. LOL Not even sure I need a living room.
My living rooms are in the desert. The others are more like dying rooms if you stay there too long. ;)

As you can imagine I have lots of HOA stories. One in a booshi area where a woman on the board was executed because he thought she was responsible for not allowing him certain color flowers in his front yard.

I have had with and without. I will say it does keep people from parking shit on their lawns and keeps them from keeping houses that were painted pink and hasn’t been painted for 20 years since. And why is it that homes that haven’t been painted in 20 years are almost always pink? lol

That's Mr Asshole to you
Picked out new flooring for the living and dining room. It weighed a bit more than I expected and my dad's Tacoma could not handle the 2800 pounds so I scheduled delivery.

This is why I like owning 1 tons :D

I had a similar conversation with a couple people this weekend while I was helping a friend move. He was talking about being surprised that I have an SUV instead of a truck like most men. I explained how the SUV does everything I need and then some. I also explained how a cheap low trailer filled in more than enough when I needed to haul larger stuff. I got a few laughs about it being "okay to not have a truck". So I decided to ask them to load their heavy ass crap into the back of their 1 tons and not into my "little trailer".

The trailer got the crap used out of it again (same one that moved @tex and @fsbrain03 ) while the one tons were used for stools and yard stuff.

You do know how to load that little trailer down! And I agree. There are times I miss having a truck, but a trailer is easy to pull. Plus, the 80 has a lot of cargo room.

I agree. 95% of the people that own trucks don't really need them. More of a feel good status symbol than anything else. Hell I bet at least 1/2 of diesel owners have less than 100 trailer miles on their trucks.

Honestly a suv would work better for most people I would think. Protected storage > bed storage.

That tile is great. I did my bedrooms in carpet and halways/living room in laminate 13+ years ago. Said to myself a few years later Ill never do carpet in anything ever again especially having roomates.

Now that foe wood tiles are out and looking great I'm pretty certain Ill never put anything else in a house. Screw carpet, laminate, and wood. Tile is the ultimate lifetime flooring IMHO. Throw a decoupler like Shluter's ditra under it with some radiant heat and that's my dream set up .

I have had stained concrete for 11 years now and I am looking forward to putting something over it. The thing nobody talks about is concrete scratches. So if you wear your shoes in the house you can expect any rocks in your shoe tread to scratch a trail.
