I like that way of thinking so I shall adopt it.

When it rains it pours. My heat is out and its 60 degrees in my house. Suspect its the thermostat so my friend is picking up a Nest and coming to put it in.

No idea. He is a family friend. He might have called it something different but I am doped up and memory is fuzzy.
I just know it was a quick and cheap fix.

I read that last week - pretty scary.

Ive got none of that stuff in my house, nor will I ever. No smart TV's, no "assistants", no robotic vacuums, no smart fridgerators, no land line, and my router is turned off at the surge protector 24/7/365 unless I'm using my computer. When the guys were setting up my new HVAC they asked for permission to hook up the web based control program. I said no thanks. My fingers work great. I have no use for a smart thermostat. If I made it 39 years w/o one I'm pretty sure I can make it another 39 w/o one. No one outside my house needs to know when I come and go. I'm perfectly fine setting my thermostat to my work hrs and if things change then so be it.....my house will be 3* colder if I get home earlier than expected.

You can't catch me!!!!!!! lol

Don’t your have a smart phone?

Those are unavoidable due to my job but when I get home it goes on the coffee table and doesn't get touched until the next day now that I also have a personal phone. Audio is still available, but black vinyl covers the selfie cameras on both. Makes me sick we as citizens think so highly of ourselves we take self portraits so much that our phones even have selfie cameras. Whole idea seems idiotic to me.

I wish I could black bag it when I get home but alas I must take emergency calls at night

My f-in-law tried to have an argument with me about personal privacy when we were feet away from his alexa. My m-in-law almost lost it when I started explaining how passive listening and recording works and I asked her if the alexa in their bedroom ever applauded for the late night activities. At that point they seemed to realize what I was saying and she does not like them now. He is still arguing his personal privacy but still has them.

I just shoot my head.

I almost got a flip phone when I gave my notice last month, but the cost difference was such that it was silly to do so + I'm pretty sure they can track anyone at anytime regardless of what kind of phone you have.

You need to power it off and wrap it in a lead box/blanket/sleeve when your home, not to make you paranoid or anything, but if you can’t find a blanket, you can buy shotgun lead shot in bags, lol.

My brothers wife works for Verizon and she told me that years ago even when turned off they can track you.

hmm....I sell X-ray blocking glass, frames, and entrances. Last job I did was blocking x-rays for staff at a horse vet. Had to buy sheets and sheets of lead to clad the room in. I should make a Faraday cage out of leaded glass and see if it will work... and by leaded glass I mean Corning's Med-X glass that stops radiation.

I have 2 of these mylar type bags that my EZ-Pass came in and they seem to do ok. I would not trust my life on their signal blocking capabilities but if I put a cell in one it goes right to VM like it's turned off.

The GPS on my new Samsung S8 is crazy accurate compared to my work S7. Even walking around my house with wifi turned off it's crazy accurate. Almost seems accurate enough to put on VR goggles and walk around my yard and house w/o bumping into stuff.

Day off...Working on the Jacuzzi, error code for no flow, replaced flow switch and purge it for any air lock; no luck and error remains.

Now it’s either a bad circuit board or heater circular pump, tested leads and the pump is getting 240v, but that doesn’t mean it works.

A Service call is $150 for the 1st hour.
Could be any of these items...
These are internet prices not full retail.
Cir pump is $190
Cir board is $380
Heater element $75

Jaccuzzi is super easy maintenance, chemicals once a week, change out water once a year, hose out filters twice a year(replace filters every 4 or 5yrs) and really the cost to repair is not that bad imo for the rewards of relaxing and I have a bad back so it benefits me using the jacuzzi.
