about how long do they run? I have about 400 linear feet that require normal weed wacking then about 100' lnft of sidewalk edging

I should stop asking before I have 3k worth of "red fuel" tools in my shed and an empty rainy day bank account

I have about the same amount as you. I have the Ego with 2.5AH battery and when I get done and put it back on the charger it shows the light between 50% and 75% is flashing. So they last a good while. I've never killed one. But I charge them before every use. Haven't tried to do multiple passes on one battery.

I just got done downloading a weeks worth of work pics and looking at them. By far the worst looking job of the week goes to my past employer who hired me to remodel the glass in their conference room. We put the metal up a year ago and they finally made the glass and had us install it today.

The stuff they picked makes me want to either have a flash back or seizure. I have a feeling we will get paid to swap it out sooner than later. Happens all the time, but not after a years worth of debate choosing it lol They made some sort of Frankenstein from dichroic film laminated between 1/4" low iron glass but it's super hazy

in hindsight they should of used anti reflective glass

WTF is that? Who picked that type of glass??

If I did not already have my Ego trimmer I would get the Milwaukee. Only issue is my Ego trimmer runs longer than my f-in-law's Milwaukee trimmer. It is not a big difference; just 10-15 mins.

Is he running the 9amp hour high demand battery?

I think 1 hour on high, but that would be continuous run. I have not gone out of the main yard and tested it on South Texas thick weeds and native grasses(next week), but so far in low speed it has plenty of power. I like not having to wear ear plugs, the guard probably needs to an inch wider.

I will test a full charge on low and one on high next week, it will all depend if my lawn crew gets lazy.

8+ people. Thats one of the reasons I left there....way too many hands in the cookie jar dragging simple shit on forever. One of my first tasks working for them was to price replacement of all their windows and office doors. I worked there almost 5 years ~ left almost 2 years ago ~ and they still haven't done any work on the windows. I ordered the metal for the conference room about 4 years ago when I was working there lol

I never thought of that... now I almost want my craftsman to blow up so I can replace it

I do not know. If it is more expensive then probably not.

@Oswego it is great not having to wear ear plugs. I generally can start out trimming the edges right after sun up. By the time I am done trimming it is a decent hour to start mowing. My Ego chainsaw is pretty quiet too. Overall I have been impressed with all their tools and want to pick up a leaf blower at some point.

My Ego weedeater is louder than my Ego mower. My lawn mower is quieter than my vacuum cleaner though. Its super nice. Both of my neighbors have said if they're in their houses, they never know I'm mowing.

I like that ability. Been up for hrs today waiting to fire up my gas hogs. At least Ill be fully caffeinated before I start

The new Ego power load string trimmer is really nice. Push a button and it winds itself back up. Sure it is a simple thing but it gets you back to work really fast. Their new setups also have the interchangeable tool ends - one power head connects to a trimmer, edger, and pole saw. Which now I know what I will be getting for spring cleaning.

Plus all the Ego tools come with a 5 year warranty.

Yeah I need to sell my weedeater and upgrade to the one with the changeable heads at some point.

I've had mine for 2 years now. I've never needed more than 1 battery to do my entire acre.

I'm probably about to sell mine though. They came out with a new version that allows a metal edger attachment and a tree trimmer chainsaw attachment

For $200 I wanted the old version, with no disconnect, I have been pricing them for awhile, I have gas powered Stihl chain & pole saws, so no upgrades for me for a good while.

If your interested in the various attachments look into Stihl, they have a battery backpack, that will run those tools all day.

Didnt feel like mowing for a while. So I sprayed my entire front yard with RoundUp and killed everything. Going to tear everything up and relevel the yard, plant a tree, install some flowerbeds, and then lay Tifway 419 Bermuda sod when it's all done. Gonna have a putting green for a lawn.

Spray a layer of of premergent down also.

If you want to put sod down right now is the time. Gonna be much harder in the summer and have it live through the winter

Yep, I'm hoping to have it down in the next two weeks. I would have liked to do it this weekend but I've been busy on other projects and it got pushed to the side for a bit.

I got the crabgrass something fierce this year. Forgot to do a pre em in the winter. Did an app of Celsius wg 2 weeks ago and Just sprayed some msma down good and hot. That should knock it out

My yard has pretty much been 95% crabgrass and clover for the last year. Decided to do something about it this year. But rather than take several years to choke out all the weeds, I'm just starting from square one. Luckily my front yard is super small so I can do it without killing my bank account.
