some outdoor fans are actually made different, Hunter back in the day made some true outdoor fans, the motor casings were much different than indoor ones, I hope I have 2 of those older ones under our gazebo, they have held up very well.
Oh for sure they do make fans specifically for outdoor use. But around the $100 price point the fans are going to be the same thing. Once you get higher up in the price range they are probably better made.

If it didn’t come with good blades from the start, trash the whole fan and get a wet rated fan they typically have the better blades/plastic ones.

Ive got a fan I installed into every room when I bought the house including my kitchen and living room. All are perfectly fine. All are Hunter before Hunter became what every American brand has become ~ Disposable China made crap

Hunter fans I installed down the Marina and were outdoors every season for at least two decades just had warped blades. Put plastic blades on a long time ago and they still work perfectly fine to this day. All we would do is remove the blades after boat season and wrap the motor in plastic bags.....and thats only because some jackass stole the plastic blades during one off-season. Very doubtful that long ago outdoor fans had plastic blades.

Sucks that America as a whole has become less educated and more willing to buy strait up junk. Sorry "finance" strait up junk. Getting harder and harder for the average citizen to buy something dependable w/o remortgaging the house. Pretty much the only part of capitalism and democracy I do not like - is the market/country swinging to the masses of morons

I agree, Hunter used to be 'THE" name in ceiling fans.

Not exactly sure what I’m going to do with these big trunk pieces, I’m thinking of just burning them.

That's Mr Asshole to you
Cutting them down is not even half the work. Its the clean up that takes forever.
I had a few trees at my old house that got hollowed out in the middle like that and had to come down.

IDK man.... I like them dark, but thats a little too dark for me. + usually I like the "hole & heartbeat" combo....but it has been a while, so....

We just had our first rain in I can't remember how long. Only lasted 20 min. First time in weeks I didn't need to water plants when I got home.

what causes that? Some disease? Even the small branches have rotten middles. Makes me rethink all the tree's I hang my hammock from

that’s the oldest cells of the tree, those die off first, these particular black jack oaks die off between 30-45 yrs in this sandy area, last years drought got this one.

This morning we had much higher than normal humidity, and that’s a big difference as well, we were sweating before we even started, lol
I don’t miss that muggy ass shit at all from when lived near Houston, no mosquitoes here too!

Praise Jesus for my 2 teenage boys, everything is out of the main yard/mowing area, I need to crush up these piles with tractor and move the smaller pile over on top of the other, then move all that cut wood to a central location for splitting.

Either we’re gonna have a cold winter coming up 2020/2021 or the good Lord is telling me I need a BBQ smoker sooner than later, lol

thats a shame especially since you have a bunch & don't require a ton of firewood for a comfy house in your climate. all the more reason to diversify if you replant any. the old monocrop theory is broken for sure IMHO

plenty of wood chips for the garden? lol

taking a 'dry off' break from critter proofing my deck. Have a ton of free pavers I got from a paver shop going out of biz years ago so I'm setting them in between my concrete piers and the 4x4 joists. Then some galvanized mesh where the gaps are bigger. Tired of harboring chipmunks/rabbits/squirrels + all the leaves and acorns that come with that.

Garden cart looks like it's rolling on dubs now. Like some hooptie that costs $2000 with $3000 rims and tires. lol Might need to break out some spray paint and lube.
