Should have just bought a 75’ RV cord, add plugs, 1 hour or less to install, shoot guns for remaining of the day and called it good.

Nope, we're gonna add more circuits for a hot tub and deck with a kitchen on top of the container in the future.

In regards to solar - buy Canadian.

These Chineese jackholes are full of crap and the author should know better, but how does one write badly about the people who make 95% of what their readers buy....to me this is complete crap fake news Chinese solar glass company keeps 24-hour furnaces running during Covid crisis

Irony is I hyped this mag up as being semi legit and it usually is, but this fluff is propaganda at best

Replaced my 45/5 capacitor on my AC unit. I'm assuming it blew because I lost a leg of power at the transformer four months back and the AC was trying to run for most of the day before I got home from work and discovered half of my electrical panel was dead. Nothing had tripped off surprisingly. I ordered a spare capacitor off Amazon just in case as well.

Not one of the little bastards at my house, this was down the street from me, I cut one wire to release him and screaming like a mofo.

I hope y’all have a better start of the day, than this guy.

So I am in the market for a pellet smoker. Currently I am debating between a Pit Boss vs Traeger vs Rec Tec. Anyone have any 1st or 2nd hand experience they care to weigh in with?

My next-door neighbor has the mac-daddy Traeger, the Timberline 1300.. not cheap! But damn, its awesome. From the day he got it he was using it and we have ate over there a bunch off it. Always been spot on. But damn, its not cheap. Traeger® Timberline 1300 WiFi Wood Pellet Grill
One of the neat things it does is that it can be set to 200 for 4 hours and then go to 225 for 2 hours or whatever.. it just does it. Its slick, not sure I would pay that much for one though.

I have heard good things on Pit Boss, my coworker has one. Also they are cheaper than Trager

I liked the bigger Pit Boss they sell at Academy when I was looking at them. The 1000 or something like that. I've heard from people that own them that Traeger is very hard to work with warranty wise if something happens. Apparently they have pretty poor CS.

I have a Pit Boss 700FB. It's a no frills, pretty basic model. Was looking at that and a Camp Chef smoker since they are budget friendly. Camp Chef had an easier ash cleanout, but ended up with the Pit Boss, because I got it on clearance at Walmart for like $200 in Dec./Jan.

Looking at reviews on a variety of sites in the last 6 months Pit Boss has a lot of complaints about auger gears stripping out so the chip feeder fails. Generally the reviews say the warranty covers it but it takes months to get replaced and the end user has to do the install. I saw two cases where users reported they had the grills for less than a year but Pit Boss denied the claim.

that’s unfortunate, everything is becoming disposable, these companies and every company really needs to focus on quality vs quantity sold.

Swapped out the 10+ year old window unit that's in my mom's garage with a new 12,000 BTU unit. The 3/4" treated plywood base it was resting on was rotted out so I got a scrap piece of 3/4" epoxy counter top and used that as the base. The epoxy top will never rot or wear out which is pretty sweet. I'm looking forward to having a garage with AC in it again.

I'm keeping the old unit and gonna try to get it running again if possible.

The company X mentioned, camp chef, usually has good quality and excellent customer service. At least they did when I got a ton of cooking gear from them many years ago. even their cast iron is great compared to lodge IMHO. I won't even cook in the factory lodge cast iron seasoning until I strip it off and coat it in camp chefs seasoning. The lodge crap flakes off at the worst possible times Ive been cooking.

With the recent storms and power outages I decided to hardwire a plug for back feeding my house panel. Repurposed my old welding receptacle in the garage, luckily I was smart and not my usual cheap self and ran 10/3 when I did that install.

Got a nice 50’ gen cord online along with a power inlet box. I did not relocate my feeder breaker or install one of those metal plate interlocks. I think I’m smarter than the average bear and have enough sense to not backfeed the grid and kill a linesman.
