Thanks for all the input! Sounds like snaking an ethernet cable through the existing conduit is a bad idea. I’ve tried wifi boosters before and they just never worked right. The one I have now is a NetGear and it only connects for an hour or two after initial power up and then it drops offline to never reconnect unless I power it down and back up again. This internet over power idea interests me…that looks like something worth trying and the easiest. Otherwise I think I would need some kind of sender/receiver antenna pair (antenna on house, antenna on outside of shop, router inside shop) because the metal shop blocks all the wifi signals coming from the house

Try the Ethernet over Power first. Amazon often refers to them as "powerline ethernet".

If you go the outdoor access point, look at the Ubiquiti stuff. Ubiquiti - UniFi® AP Outdoor
I've used their indoor stuff and liked it. They seem to be high quality and aimed more at commercial as opposed to residential stuff.

I would start with the Ethernet over Power first. If that does not work let me know and we will get you spec'd out with a wireless bridge. That technology is sound and well proven. It is not a WiFi booster by any means and can be used to run miles and miles.

It's not the end of the world to run the ethernet in the same pipe. CAT6 cable is cheap so if it's really bad, then it's not like your out a lot of money by trying.

But that being said, my electrical superintendent just bought new mesh wifi routers for his house and the wireless bridging is so fast now that he didn't see the need to hook them up to a hardwired ethernet connection.

My nephew came down from college last weekend and helped me work on my house (guess he needed money lol). We got two 4'x10' trailer loads of junk wood thrown out at my other house for heavy trash pickup. We moved another trailer load of wood to my mom's spare garage to store until contractors are done working at my house (some of this wood I'll be using on projects for the house but the majority of it is going to Jason's ranch to build hunting blinds).

We got three door frames moved to new locations downstairs, got the upstairs totally cleaned out of tools and building materials and picked up a trailer load of 1/2" sheathing for the bay side of my house. We also did some work to my pier to just do something different for a bit and get outside.

I'm planning on framing out my master shower & downstairs shower and taking off my upstairs decking this coming weekend. I'm hoping my window orders will come in soon so I can frame those three windows out and then my part will be mostly done.

The final stages of the purge have begun so I no longer own a bed. Its springs were sprung so to the curb she goes.

TVs, pcs, and stereos getting packed up.

Also just dropped off some books + electronics to my nephews and just gave the church 4 bags worth of my fat man's clothes.

I'm not happy with the amount of shit I've procured and held onto over the years. Owning a home sure makes it easy to become gluttonous. The amount of money and time Ive wasted on material items is disheartening now that I'm older and wiser.

I picked up this counter top for Jason's ranch yesterday.

So I got a late start working on my house. Got the old, absolutely useless fireplace torn out (all of the heat vented straight outside and the exhaust stack goes right through the eve of the roof so that eve is all rotted out now. Absolutely one of the stupidest installs I've ever seen.)
My neighbor was having a church party as well so I was trying not to make a lot of noise (they fed me lunch and are super sweet people).

I'm going to rip out all of the termite damaged studs and reframe the wall today. I'm going to frame in the fireplace bump out so I can demo it later when I re-side the house.

I woke up at 5:30AM this morning to start work, opened up the front door to let my dog out to pee and got hit by a blast of freezing air; said fuck that and went back to bed lol (can't run my Makita compressor below 40° per the multiple warnings and sticker on it).

Got some honey-do's done this morning. Moved the crib around to where my wife wanted it, rotated my temperpedic mattress around (been meaning to do this), washed clothes, etc...hanging out with my oldest while the baby takes a nap with my wife. Then heading off to work on the house.

I'm laying on the couch watching Anime waiting on it to warm up so I can go fuck off on my motorcycle lol

The angle iron headers above the windows are getting a fresh coat and new sealant.

The boys are doing all the prep work for me, which is good.

Just saw two houses. Put offers in on both. I liked the 1st one best. It's smaller than th second and about the same size as our current house but it's laid out better and feels quite a bit bigger. It also has a big yard huge covered back patio, better garage, and a pool. Plus a two to three car covered carport outside the garage. She likes the second best. It's about 400-500sqft bigger than our current house but has a smaller garage than the first, outdated kitchen, and the backyard isn't as big or as nice. But has much more usable space inside. The neighborhoods for both are super quiet and well cared for. I'll be happy either way but I really want the one with the pool and the bigger garage so I threw a little extra money on that offer.

Will do! You were my next call if Jason didn't want it. I wasn't gonna let that countertop get scrapped.

Got the wall framed up. I'll demo out the back area once my HVAC guy demos the 30' 8" exhaust line for me. It's too much for me to handle by myself. I also got a bunch of other stuff done that wasn't picture worthy.
