I am beat today. It was quite a bit hotter than I expected it to be yesterday.

Sunday- The waterproofer came out and finished waterproofing my house. So my whole house is now sealed with Sika commercial grade caulking which should last a couple of decades. He used a whole box of NP2 and another box of NP1, so I’m super happy that's taken care of.

While he was working, I spent about four hours cleaning up the downstairs, getting the last of the old sheetrock screws or nails & finish nails out and organizing everything again. I HATE messy jobsites and I haven’t had time to do a proper clean so it feels really good to have all that taken care of. I drilled out the 4” boxes for the outside motion flood lights around the house and ran the wiring to them. Also wired up my garage outlets the way I wanted as well. I still need to go pick up the 6-gauge wiring so I can install the outlets for my future welding/electric car charging and my 80-gallon air compressor.

But I probably won’t get much done next week due to how hot it’s supposed to be. Thankfully, it looks like a little cold front will be pushing through the following week.

Repaired my aunt's shower handle last night and replaced some burned out light bulbs. Gotta love chinesesium metal sometimes because I was able to drill out a corroded set screw on the shower handle with a screw and then jam/manually re-thread a new stainless set screw into the handle to hold it onto the shaft lol

Got my back porch power washed and cleaned off all the leftover glue the PO had used to hold down the sill plates, it was mostly gone but a paint scraper and the power washer cleaned it up nicely.

Tomorrow morning I will remove the ceiling and then rough in the high hats, the material is supposed to be delivered and work starting tomorrow.

Turns out their delivery driver called out sick, was told they’ll start Monday mid morning. Hopefully no birds start nesting in the soffit over the weekend lol

Saturday- got the yard mowed and weed eated finally. My plumber came over and got some work done. It was fucking hot.

I bought and hooked up a new 1080p Google Chromecast for my mom's kitchen tv (she doesn't need the 4k version for that little TV). Pretty good little unit for only $50. Really snappy and has everything you need on it. I wanted to try something else this time since my fire tv & sticks seem to get slow within a year of using them.

Today I played hooky and stayed home to watch my one year old. It was too damn hot outside and I'm tired of it. Can't wait for this cool front to come through.

We have a little 22" Samsung TV in our master bath. Wife uses it to watch the news while she is getting ready in the morning. We did have a Dish Joey on it. But I got rid of the Joey and got a Roku for it. But I cheaped out and got the non-4K one, damn thing does not have the universal remote. So now she has to use two remotes. I think when Black Friday hits I'll pick up a 4K one just for the convenience of it.

Yeah her 40" Samsung has all the apps built into it but it takes 5 mins to open one app on it (older TV) so I got her this instead. She used it all day today and seems to be happy with it.

I wonder if you can just buy a different Roku remote for the unit you have now instead of a whole new unit?

Finished wiring up the new floods on the sunroom soffit area, let there be light! Working up in the attic was bearable now with the lower temps we've had the last couple of days, but damn if it isn't dusty and that insulation makes me itch like a motherfucker lol

Tied into the existing floodlight switch and then tapped the switched hot into a junction box going to both lights. I am able to turn the outer and inner sets of flood lights on separately too which is nice.

Just have to aim the lights a little better, I'll have to get the big ladder out for that. Too tired to mess with it tonight. Lights are pretty damn bright, pretty sure my neighbors hate me just a little more now if that's possible lol

I need to add some flood lights to the backyard. Once you get out from under the covered part of the patio, it’s pitch black. Which is nice most of the time but sucks when you need the light.

yeah for the most part I like to keep it darker if we're just sitting out here with bonfire or hanging out, but if I'm using the grill it sucks up until now with the new lights lol

My eventual plan is a stamped concrete or paver patio out to where the grill is, that might be on next years to do list.

Well, there goes a few more hundred, luckily it happened when I was coming home and not leaving so I have my car outside. Made an appointment to get the springs replaced tomorrow.

How big is that TV? We put a Vizio on our patio as well.
