Got a trench dug and a 1" PVC line installed for the power to my gate opener today.

Got the boxes cut in for the outside power outlets.

Got my AC condensers installed today as well! I've been waiting months for them to come in.

Just in time for the weather to cool off?

Finally getting around to fixing the sprinkler system after about a month and a half of having it turned off for various reasons. Have three heads to replace and picked up a new controller as well since I can’t figure out WTF is wrong with the current controller. Wasn’t going to mess with any of it until spring but need to put out my pre-emergent and winterizer fertilizer and it needs to be watered in.

Got through Sunday with a healthy dose of pepto bismol. My electrician was there working and he got the lights to the garage wired, a bunch of little stuff finished on the upstairs and he got together a list of stuff he needs to hook up my condensers today.

I cleaned out my little trailer and made a home depot run to get the tub and a bunch of electrical odds & ends. I got most of the outside electrical outlets wired up and the all weather boxes installed. I got about 2/3rds of the nail plates installed on the downstairs, I need to go pickup more of them today after work so I can finish up the upstairs so the crew can install the sheetrock on one side on Thursday.

Glass is in, trim work is about finished. I drilled a hole to bring electric around the outside wall, tough getting it that close to the wall so I’ll caulk the gap up. Screens, finishing trim work, remounting the gutter downspout, and then start the ceiling is next.

Looking good!

thanks I’m happy with how it’s turning out. 1000x better than the previous joe homeowner special. The guys doing the work are pretty meticulous and thorough. Hopefully I’ll get a few weeks of use before it gets too cold this winter. Ordered a new ceiling fan tonight that should be here next week.

Are you planning to screen the place off?

screens fit in the outside track of the window frame. They only delivered a couple of them so far though but they are removable and just pop into the track. The windows slide horizontally and are also removable so I can clean easily. I’d like to do a paver patio or stamped concrete once you step off the porch, maybe on next years list. Need to work a few OT shifts to recharge the slush fund lol

Thanks, these guys are doing good work, seems to be a rare occasion when hiring a contractor these days unfortunately

Looks great!

Progress up to today, they got the extra support in for the ceiling and insulated it. I put up a new fan box I need to secure once the ceiling height is set (I think it's about as thick as standard 1/2" drywall but I'll wait until they get to that point to ensure the box is flush with the finished ceiling)

Reattached the downspout to the column support and extended the drain pipe to the corrugated section

I got a 120 nail stops on this morning.

Got the last of the hurricane straps on.

Got some decking boards put on in anticipation of the painters coming next Wednesday. I still have a bunch of work to finish on the deck tomorrow.

My mom came over to clean, sweep and vacuum up all the debris for me. She got all of the wall cavities cleaned out for me so I can fire foam or caulk them.

Slept in and woke up with the kiddos. Spent half a day with them and then went to work on the house for 8 hours. I'm having to spend more time at home because we figured out that my 1-1/2 year old baby doesn't really know who I am since I'm working so much. She doesn't trust me like my first born kiddo did. I never anticipated that being an issue.

Just got a ton of misc. stuff done. Wrapping up little loose ends outside to get ready for the painters on Wednesday.

Electrician got the condensers wired into my outside panel so I didn't have to use disconnect boxes. He also got all of the can lights wired I'm downstairs (so happy I didn't have to do that lol).

Got a bunch of stuff caulked up with Sika caulk. That Sika caulk is some great stuff but if you make a mistake, you get punished for it as it's really hard to wipe off of stuff.

Got these super treated 3"x8" house beams mounted to the house to attach the existing railing to. I'll wrap these in the decking material to hide them. It's not my favorite solution but way better than the previous setup. All of the outside deck is temporary as I'll be expanding the existing deck in a couple of years. I have to use what I took off bc I don't want to buy new stuff right now.

Finished up the LED install in my closets. This thing works great for anyone interested, made perfect hole...I was going to just use my rotozip but said fuck it, one can always use a new tool, plus I didn't have to move any clothes out of the closet because it caught the dust.

Just about wrapped up here. Gave it a good sweeping and mounted the new fan. Only thing left to do is wire up some outlets on the porch walls, we’ll see when I’ll get to that, I have one existing 20 amp outlet out there now that I can use. Now to spend more money on furniture for out here after I squeeze a few shifts of OT in to fund it.
