The ones that have shit the fan don't even have a brand name on them. We have a couple that are called Air King and they still work. I need to look into replacing them though. I'll check out the Panasonic fans.

Just upgraded my internet speeds to 1Gb and got locked in at $60 a month. Beats the shit out of what I was paying... I was paying almost double for less than half that speed. I was pleasantly surprised they did it.

Installed a Nest thermostat today that we got as a wedding gift from one of her coworkers. Opted out of all the bullshit where they can control it when they want to and all the eco stuff. My electric bill is already half the amount of our last house and I don’t want anyone controlling it except me. I’m sure they can still get in and do whatever they want but I can always get rid of it if it becomes a problem. I try not to wear a tinfoil hat very often. Due to whoever installed the original thermostat punching a hole in the wall the size of a baseball, I wasn’t able to mount it high enough to cover where the old plate was. So it’ll just have to wait until we paint the living by room for that spot above it to go away.

Worked on my house Friday and Saturday. I was too wore out to work on Sunday.

Got the pony wall for the master shower built. I made it lower than the height of my wife's tits so I have a view lol

Because of the beam placement holding the second floor up (and the fact that I'm not going to notch that beam to fit the plumbing), I had to build a wall out 4" in the upstairs guest bathroom so the tub would be centered on the drain.

Went through four cans of foam ceiling up the electrical wire, gas & plumbing penetrations (and all of the old penetrations as well). I still need to seal around the doors and windows as well inside so I'll need another couple of cans of foam.

Got the doorbell wiring in and the power to the doorbell transformer in. I put it in the downstairs coat closet so if I need to replace the transformer in the future, it'll be easy to do.

Last week, my electrician got the upstairs cans cut out in the sheetrock and the wiring ran to them all. He wired up about a 1/3rd of the panel as well. I'm gonna have him install the lighting under the porch, run the wiring and data for the gate opener and put in the smurf tube for future wiring upgrades later this week.

I’m paying $40 for 500gb because that’s the best deal Spectrum had. Honestly it’s more than enough for what we need but AT&T recently ran fiber in our neighborhood so once they start offering it, I’ll swap over to their 1gig plan like I had at the last house. Think it was around $60 a month. Spectrum so far has been terrible but was the only option. The ink we’ve had more downtown in the 3 months we’ve lived here than we had in the 3.5 years with AT&T at the old house.

This may be the one to go with: Panasonic Whisper Choice DC Pick-A-Flow 80/110 CFM Ceiling Bathroom Exhaust Fan with Flex-Z Fast Bracket RG-C811A - The Home Depot

DC motor uses less electricity. It's one of the quietest listed. Selectable CFM.
Con: pricier than similar sounding units.

Ignorant question: are they all a standard size?

Cheaper options:

Looks like all of the quiet ones come with options in air flow of either 50, 80, 100, 110, or 120.

I had 400Gb before and I was happy with it. I could have got the 400Gb plan for $40 or the 1Gb for $60. Figured I'd give the 1Gb a shot. I'm still waiting for that 1Gb service to kick in. She said it may take a few hours. I think I'll need to bounce the modem as well.

Ok, I am still not getting over 400Gb.. I'll call tomorrow. I've rebooted the modem a few times. I got the Orbi setup. Took some fucking with. Seems to like it best when not connected via ethernet cable for backhaul?? I had it configured like that and satellites kept coming and going. I ended up moving the satellites a little more inward than the previous Google WiFi puck locations. To be honest, the Google app was 10x better.. had way more functionality.. like the ability to test the actual "mesh" and determine which satellite was causing issues or did not have the best signal. Could also test each device that was connected to the mesh. The WiFi 6 is speedy fast. On my wifes new laptop with WiFi 6 built in her wireless speeds are the same as wired speeds for speedtest.net.. and she was in her office, the area she previously had issues with. I ordered a USB 3.0 WiFi 6 antenna for my garage PC. Will most likely order another for the daughters PC in her room. The wife was having issues with her internet connected stationary bike... she said it was dropping and reconnecting. The satellite is like 10 feet from her bike?? Sometimes I just fucking HATE technology.

Oh.. and I wish the fucking things had some sort of diagnosis light on them. My Google WiFi pucks had a very slight glow to this ring around the top.. if it was light blue it was connected... if it was amber it was not.. if it was circling it was trying to connect. These fuckers are dark 98% of the time.. I am just hoping they are working. Only way to be sure is to use the fucking app. Yeah, thanks.. let me stop wtf I was doing and open the app.

Just did a bit of a load test. Had a show from Youtube playing on my main PC in 1080, Maverick in 4K on my patio TV via Vudu and a Roku stick, Just some show on Paramount + on the Roku in the master bath and some crap on Hulu on the daughters PC. Everything worked fine.

Oh and now this fucking Orbi "APP" is prompting me for my password.. hey fuckhead... I said "remember my password". Fuck I hate technology.

If it's dark, that means everything's fine. I actually like that it doesn't have a light on it. I fucking hate my modem that has all those LED's that lights up a room.

Laughing at Sean's misfortune.

I have the Linksys. Solid blue means everything is working fine, but as Michael said...it lights up the room at night. Two of them are in bedrooms. Overall, I have been very pleased with them. No clue if the app has any sort of test feature....I haven't had to look. Just plug them in, add them to the network and go about my business. Zero complaints.

Got these for under $350 last year: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/linksys-atlas-pro-ax5300-wi-fi-6-system-3-pack/6474691.p?skuId=6474691

Looks like I’m hanging Christmas lights this weekend. Unfortunately, our house only has one exterior outlet total and it’s in the middle of the back porch. So rather than run a 100ft extension cord all the way around my house to the lights, I’m going to just add an outlet in the soffit. I plan to add a few soffit outlets down the line but just doing the one for now. Also going to be adding a couple of outlets to the front porch but that will have to wait until I feel like demoing the brick half walls that surround our porch.

I'm just wondering if maybe you disconnected two of the satellites and just ran two of them to see if it stops dropping signal. I think you have quite a bit of overkill with four of them.
