It's time to man up and get a BOW!!!!!
I'm too lazy for that. Call me a sore loser, but I usually only play sports/ games that I'm really good at and I'm already a really good shot, so there's not much motivation for me to take up bow hunting. I'd definitely try bow fishing though.

Picked up a double rifle range bag while I was at the gun show today since the 30-06 comes with a crappy looking red leather sleeve that it barely fits into.

Nice, I like having something to tote my guns in when I take'em out and knock the dust off.

We're getting one of these next in .17HMR

http://www.weatherby.com/product/rifles/markxxii
http://www.browning.com/products/ca...5&type_id=175&content=t-bolt-sporter-firearms

Probably the browning due to the price difference but my dad's a big Weatherby fan so he's still looking at that one too.
I've always thought it would be sweet to have a .17, but I really don't have any use for it. Can you imagine having a suppressor on it, say goodbye to those pesky neighborhood cats, lol.

Yeah he was looking at one for a while and before he decided which he wanted he decided he wanted another deer rifle and bought a Browning 7mm-08 BLR. Now he wants the .17 HMR to carry to his stand for bobcats, baby pigs, etc.

Hey guys,
I have been slacking latley. I am getting ready got hunting season here. I normally hunt at Fort Hood but they have closed about half of the hunting grounds due to low dear counts and land use by military units. Do now I have to find a
lease or something.

I am looking to get a bow and start bow hunting this year. Can anyone give me an idea on how much money I should apt for a descent first time bow? I am appraximatly 5 5 so not sure Bout draw lengths or what not. I have never fired a bow in my life so this is all new to me.

Any help would be appriciated thanks in advance.

If you have never bow hunted before you are about to be hooked like a crackhead.
I was suggest going to a pro shop and get measured for draw length ( I would guess your to be from 25"-27" if your 5'5".
Your best bet would be a bow kit, Martin has some damn good bows for under $400 (cheetah or Bengal) www.martinarchery.com
My dad has a cheetah he bought 3 yrs ago and still shoots it more then his new bow, I'm not sure were you live but I'm sure there is a pro shop close by that can help you out, just don't let them talk you into buying a $500+ bow for your 1st.
