Just got back into town. That buck weighed in at 200# before I cleaned him.

Not exactly a cull spike, because it was probably a damaged tine and not genetics. I actually let a good (young) 8pt walk in favor of killing this guy. Super stoked for my first bow kill and lots of meat.

Nice!

That's Mr Asshole to you
Got out in the woods this weekend for a little hunting. Not sure what's going on but only saw 1 deer the whole weekend. It was a buck but to dark to tell how big or if it was legal. I'm sure the 2+ inches of rain we got yesterday morning didn't help.

So you're saying there's a chance!
I was in the woods too. The rain sucked, but I put a doe in the freezer this morning.

Best time to hunt in the rain...

My son shot a 3pt spike/112lbs Saturday morning, and it was open flood gates most of morning. My brother and I had to drag the spike out of the creek bottom before the water came up.

And for the evening hunt, we were not in the blind no more 10min and a 10pt, 170lbs walked out, I couldn't even find the binocs cause it was a surprise to us. He shot him and we waited 30min before I went out to locate the buck. I had drop the ass end of the truck in hole for loading him, it almost bottomed out, but it made loading the buck on the receiver rack so much easier. 4WD was a must for the past few wnkd in hunting and now a wheel bearing is totally hosed.
