Last weekend I filled my cow elk tag 2 hours into opening day

Hell yeah man, I missed my chance to go with my father n law in Colorado this year. He didn't get anything but it would still have been fun to go.

Oh yeah, its a lot of meat. Super tasty too. I greatly prefer it to venison. She was a big, healthy girl. When I straddled her waist, I only had to bend my knees about 2 inches to be sitting on her. She's at the butcher now. I haven't heard the hanging weight but I'm sure its in the 250 range. Her head weighed like 30 alone and the hide weighed about 50. I have a picture where I'm hunched down working on her and the gut pile next to me is damn near as big as I am.

Got my buck cut up with a little help from Logan, he actually did a damn good job with the pieces I will be grinding for sausage.
