I've been being more intentional when out with my family. i.e. not being on my phone. This is a perfect example of why detaching from society and becoming totally engrossed in your phone is not a good idea. She had no idea that there was any harm about to be bestowed upon her. Not that she could have stopped that attack either way, but being totally oblivious of your surroundings is never a good idea.
The quote in the above post about the level of radicalization this has caused is probably heard and felt by many. The "system" has failed and we need to hold people accountable for their actions. Until we start doing that, we are going to continue down this evil path.
