Nice. I'd like to see how you like it. I was deciding between that one and Ryobi's new 2nd gen 40v brushless. They are the same price and have the same specs on paper, but I went with the Ryobi just because this was their second iteration of it and figure some kinks have been ironed out. (wishful thinking) Bonus: It ended up going on sale the next weekend, so I was able to go and get a price adjustment on it.
I'll try it out this evening. I have the 80v version for my shop and the matching chainsaw/blower but that 80v battery is heavy so I went with the 40v version. No issues at all with any of the 80v stuff so I'm sure I'll be happy with the 40v.
Nice! I've been considering picking up one of those Ryobi as well. Mainly because I have their 40v hedge trimmer and the battery is interchangeable.
Thats why I went 40v over 24, they make a 16in 40v chainsaw.

Just bought this DeWalt branch trimmer. Didn't know they made one of these and I have a bunch of trimming I need to get done.

How much? I have several of the batteries already.
It was a $160 from Homeless Despot shipped to my door (free shipping).

I can see myself on my 13' A frame ladder now trying to reach a branch that's 30' up lol

Always wanted one of them. Ive got the Fiscaras manual limb trimmer and it's OK, but gets tiring after the 2nd branch lol

That's Mr Asshole to you
Not a bad price at all. I could really use something like that with all of my trees.

I wonder if you can get a replacement blade for those. I have one and it cuts through limbs like nobodys business. A lot faster than the powered Ryobi 40v trimmer/pole-chainsaw thing that I borrowed. You do get an arm workout after the 20th branch or so, but it really isn't all that bad.

I've got a pole-saw that clicks into my Echo weedwhacker. Works surprisingly well. I need to break it out and trim some of the oak trees in my backyard actually.

Yea this thing can't even break screws that are 1/2 way rusted through. I had a feeling it was a lemon. When you can't remove a 3" screw from wood that's 90% rotted away - it's pretty sad.

Even sadder is when the user has no idea it has 4 power settings and it comes preset on the lowest power from the factory

Just ran (4) 16" timberlocks in with no issues at all on the drive setting. Impact is fine - desk jockey operating it not so much

Yeah, I grab my 12v Fuel impact for 90% of things around the house. Plenty of power... rarely use the 3/8th or 1/2' ones. Did I mention I have 3 of the 1/2" ones now. :) Well one is a non-Fuel old version that I beat the shit out of. But a friend of mine gave me his "used once" 1/2" Fuel because it was the only thing Milwaukee he owns.

lol I was up about 16’ with Echo pole saw fully extended, the boys and I started on this tree this evening. I was on my heavy fiberglass ladder, all the limbs left of that aluminum ladder are down, with no damage to the other tree.

Lol at least you can own up to it.

Deprecation has never been an issue w/me. put a battery into it yesterday and said to myself "here we go with this turd - Ill try it but have to grab my cord and real drill". As I put the battery into it I saw a weird light pop on so I pushed on it and the light moved..... then pushed it again and it moved again. Then thanks to bifocals I noticed they had little numbers in each box and the end was a drill bit. I immediately did a literal facepalm and started laughing at myself for being potatoe

I'm waiting to see the ladder in the fully raised bucket of the tractor - that's when you earn your "third world OSHA" safety badge lol

Yeah I want to switch my guys over to the 12V line of Milwaukee tools or the Makita 12V but both 12V lines are just as expensive as the 18V lines. And my guys that do have the 12V impacts (I got a couple as a free add-on item to some Milwaukee band-saws I bought during a Christmas sale last year) it's all they use now.

lol, already earned that at the farm on a few occasions, sometimes I think using the bucket and smaller ladder is safer than being near top of my 28ft ladder.

Only issues we have had with Makita is the impacts. We are just now trying a different model hoping to avoid the old issues where the quick change stops holding the bit. Their drills from the combo kits always seem to last. We had some chuck issues a few years ago on two drills but that seems to have been worked out now. Overall not horrible for using consumer rated tools in a commercial setting. Just bought 2 of their portable hammer drills so time will tell on them

Only issue we've had with them are the batteries kinda suck. Most of the drills and impacts have made it 2-3 years and these drills and impacts are used all day, 5 days a week. As both the drill and impact are our most used tools.

Its pretty badass actually. I used it to clean up the fence line out in my pasture so I could build a pen. It chewed through berry vines etc without missing a beat.
