Just submitted a claim to Knipex. This brand new stripper has rusted out pretty badly which is weird because it rides in the same pouch as my Knipex combination pliers which have no rust on them. So we'll see what Knipex will do to make it right.
The only thing I could think of that made them rust is being exposed to my sweat through the tool pouch? But it's weird that only this one started rusting whereas the other pliers/cutters are fine.

I’ve had problems with my cobra pliers rusting. Only one of the three pair and they were stored in the same place as the other two pair so not sure why.

One of my cobras has a little rust on it but not like this. I've also use that set in water as well.

Well Knipex replied back and told me to pound sand. Standard reply of "inadequate maintenance". Like I was supposed to know it would rust that bad overnight.

How were you supposed to maintenance it differently.than the other tools? Seems like a bad customer service answer.

Yep, how was I supposed to know it would rust like that? I left a review to make sure other people know this will happen to them. Non of my other 20 pliers from Knipex have this rust issue and I've never oiled them.

I ended up putting some 3M rust converter on it last night and I'll make sure to keep it drenched in oil from now on.

Maybe a counterfeit from China?

I sent the pics in to Knipex and they didn't say anything about them being a counterfeit item. But that is a possibility I didn't think about before.

Well I was borrowing power from my neighbor to run my little fridge and tools at my house since I have no power right now. Well his yard guy didn't see a bright yellow extension cord in the grass somehow and ran it over with a lawn mower. So now I have a heavy-duty 12-gauge 15' extension cord and a ~75' extension cord. Just wish I could've seen the sparks flash up from the lawn mower since it blew up his outdoor outlet lol

Wasn’t planning on buying them until spring but my Ego battery shit the bed while in storage and won’t take a charge. So I picked up the M18 string trimmer and edger attachment this morning. Will have some tree trimming to do in the spring so I’ll be keeping an eye out for a deal on the pole saw and extension bar attachments before then.
