Finally a decent progress pic of the table progress. I have a few more braces to weld in before bolting down a 5/8" wood top. I have a dinner with some friends tonight and Tex's bumper install so far this weekend; so working around that stuff I expect to have this thing done on Sunday. Then I will just need a power strip to put on the back of it for the drill press and bench grinder.

The vast majority of the materials for this project is either drops from other projects or abandoned real estate agent signs. It may not be pretty right now it will hold up great for the price tag. lol

Finishing up the tool bench and I had to break out the wood tools. I really do not enjoy cutting wood but it is one of the few times I get an excuse to break out my Grandfather's circular saw. I should probably buy a new blade for it but it still guys good with the last one he had one it in '97 when he died.

Might not be a new tool but it is a good tool.

Picked up a new miter saw from home Depot and got a free base stand! I've needed this tool for a long time. So happy I finally got it.

That's pretty darn cool. I wish I had a stand for my saw. You just made the cutoff date.

I have a Makita dual slide miter saw on the Ridgid stand similar to that. Love that thing.. setup and teardown are literally seconds.

In drilling the 12 holes through this frame assembly I had to use a 90 degree adapter and hex bit drill bits, stepping up in size all the way to 1/2". Well my Milescraft 90 degree adapter did well but gave up the ghost with the 1/2 bits and an 18v drill. Fucked it up on the first hole. The pilot hole was up to about 3/8th at that point so it should have just ate.. but it seized and stripped the 90 degree adapter. Fuck. I also have a smaller Milwaukee 90 degree adapter, it did a couple holes but holding the head it gets friggin' hot! Not designed for this kind of work... just putting in wood screws and shit. Probably going to have to break out the plasma and just open them up a bit. It will have a grommet and silicone around the hole so I'm not too worried about looks or making it perfectly round. Just need the holes. I'll tackle that tomorrow, my right arm is tired of hot pieces of metal falling on it (drilling from below) and its too warm to wear a jacket.

F**king Home Depot again. This is the second time my credit card has been hacked after making a large purchase at Home Depot. Someone tried to buy $5,000 worth of stuff at Home Depot this morning. Luckily the charge was stopped for fraud.

My DeWalt 20V saw is starting to show it's age. It's had a productive hard-use life but doesn't have the power I need anymore. So before it burns up, I'm going to save it for smaller jobs. Ended up ordering a Makita 5377MG Magnesium Hypoid saw. I haven't used one extensively but I'm tired of the sidewinder saws.

Really disappointed that they cost-engineered the quality out of the Mag 77 SkilSaw. :(
