Mine lifts high enough if I put it on the front IFS skid or rear diff.

At many of y'alls recommendation, I picked up the HF low profile 3 ton jack. $89 out the door isn't bad. I went with the low profile because it actually had a higher max lift height (19 3/4") than the regular one (18 1/4"). Even with that extra lift height, I could barely get my front tires off the ground by lifting at the frame near the tire. Trying to get both wheels off the ground at the same time was laughable. The one I sold had a max lift height of 22".

Enter the Floor Jack Cross Beam. Makes the jack look more like a hammerhead shark, but so far I'm incredibly pleased. The beam itself gives another couple inches and the pads can be extended up another 5". Plus, it spreads the load on the frame a little, for whatever that is worth.

Steel Floor Jack Cross Beam

I got a 25% off coupon and it was a done deal.
That will be great to use when Silverback replaces his sending unit. But something tells me he is slightly allergic to HF. :)

I am big fan of their US General 44" toolboxes though.

Took this pics months ago but flimsy water bottles are one on my favorite 'tools.' Just cut a slit on the top and push it on the 'pipe' on the bottom of the oil filter drain. Then, throw the bottle in your neighbor's yard! lol j/k

I forgot the water bottle once. My sammich maker called me and said the truck was sounding funny on her way to work so I went by and saw what I forgot. Thankfully the belt had not chewed down to the oil in the bottle yet

I just slipped a piece of hose with a small clamp on it over the drain.. it sits on top of my skid plate and when I need to use it I just slip it out to the side and into a drain pan.

Why not design it so when you remove the filter, so all the oil dosnt flow out, Tacoma points down, Ford is sideways and messy all the Honda I owned were sideways, SB and B.B. v8 Chevys is correct, I’m not sure on the LX 5.7, I don’t plan on changing that oil on LX until the warranty expires 5yr/60k, heck the Lexus dealer only charges $65 for synthetic blend 7qts and includes vacuum and wash.

Designed to make a mess, so most folks will pay for oil change service

I used to do this until the hose I bought for this specific job walked off somewhere. Now I just use Rogers method lol

Funny you say That! THAT bottle took a trip to the desert. IIRC, it's wedged in there more because of the S/C. :)

This is what I did. Really wish oil changes on the 4runner were this easy.
