I like Miller's electric machines. But we can't keep our engine driven Millers at work running more than a day at a time. Biggest pieces of junk I've used. I'll take a Lincoln all day long when it comes to engine drive welders.
This x100. Miller makes incredible shop welders. Probably the best around. I've just been seeing what else is out there lately. But for engine drive it's Lincoln or nothing Miller engine drives weld like doggy doo doo.

Trying to convince them to stop repairing our Miller's and just trade them in for some SAE500s

I need to pick up a good miter saw that won't break the bank. I'd love a DeWalt sliding compound miter saw. But they're just a little to $$$ for me. I think I can get away with just a sliding miter saw for my needs. Don't think the beveling will be too necessary but I definitely want the slide feature. I noticed Ryobi has a 15amp 10" one at Home Depot for under $200. But was wondering if anyone else had a recommendation. I would like to stay around $250 or less.

Oh those are for my guys - I'm not allowed to "touch" tools (I'm management not union).

We share a mini 12v set of Makita impact/drills between me and my co-worker.
I used to get one union guy to look on as I instructed as per the contract. :)

Been using DeWalt 12" compound miter saws since I was 18 and never anything else. Ive personally blown up two of them in 7 years, but during that 7 years all I did was cut aluminum shower door extrusions on it 8-10hrs a day M-F. The saws actually wouldn't blow out - the electric brakes would. I liked them so much I bought one for myself. Can't speak for any other brands nor any that have slides on them. We always avoid slides when cutting metal - makes them super dangerous IMHO.

I would stay away from the Ridgid compound dual slide saws. I bought a 12" one and returned it. Its didn't track straight, had about 1/8" of runout. I Googled it (thought I set it up incorrectly or something) and discovered it was a known flaw. So I returned it and bought a Makita, love that thing.

if you are still onsite and can remember I'd love to know who manufactured those racks in the back of the pics with the orange arms. We have been making ours in house, but that's exactly what we need to store 24' long stock lengths of aluminum in our shop.

I can only imagine your markup on that $6 can of spray paint.
Dude, he got the good stuff! 2x more coverage...it's like you're getting two cans of spraypaint in one!

Baker Brothers Installations. I remember because I welded all the angle iron bumpers on the floor together when they built the place. Fuckers took 90 days to pay me.
