Made some custom 1/4" saddles for a set of lally columns for a buddy. I think figured out the weak link in the horrible fright 20 ton press; also found some interesting ways to bend a u shape without a gooseneck die. Think it's time to upgrade to a 40 ton set up, or stop using a cheater pipe on the jack handle lol

I like the free batteries - ordered impact and drill combo.

Yeah; looks like a good time to upgrade.

Just buy a bigger piece of beam

Turns out the new HF design of their 20 ton press is much beefier than the old one, and my buddy felt bad that we destroyed mine doing his work so he bought me a new one and took my old one :D

The old one was welded at the top and the metal was much thinner than the new version.

Plus that gave me the chance to finally put the air assisted jack in the press, just need to plumb an air line to it to tidy up the setup. This should hold me for a little while longer

Now that's someone I'd let borrow tools anytime!

Picked up the 5 drawer mechanics tool box with side tray at HF. It had gotten good reviews. See below video for comparison (not mine)

So far I'm impressed with it for $180, it will work well as a mobile box I can move around the lift and keep tools I use more often in there instead of having to walk across the shop to my bigger box.

I just buy the black and silver markers on Amazon in bulk. They mark pretty good and are cheap as they get.
Yeah I needed this for my plasma cutter so I can see my lines with my hood down. It worked for half a line and then gunked up and just leaked white paint.

I've always just used soapstone. Never had a problem seeing it.
Yeah I switched over to a grease pen I had. I thought this might be a brighter white than the grease pen.

Any of yall use laser measuring devices?

Every day. What are you looking to do/measure? Ive had Hilti, Bosch, and Stabila laser measuring devices. Here's my current one I got for free with a puchase of their "baller" status high end manual levels LD 220. It's OK, but not for long distances.

Yea, I tried them and they suck. Went back to sharpie. I carry black, gold, and silver so I can use it in most situations. I also carry pencils, crayons, spray paint, clear paint, chalk lines, etc. etc. lol (not kidding)
