The Kobalt uses 23 ga steel as opposed to 24 ga on the Husky. Same number of shelves, but somehow the Husky says that shelves are rated to 150lbs compared to 100lbs of the Kobalt or Craftsman. At this point, I think I'm going to make a push for the Husky since it will match my toolbox.

Through research/years of use Ive found a couple tips to help prolong the life of them

*To avoid hand lock after hrs of use - use some velcro straps to keep the handle pressed down. Not safe if you go muzzle sweeping everyone with it or fall down, but it will save your hands over the years.

*Always prime the pump 100%. I use the velcro strap to keep the trigger pushed for about 5 minute prior to start up.

*Never let them idle. Never. After warm up either use them or turn them off. When you have them on full throttle and you aren't using the pump it is building heat and pressure that decreases the life of the pump severely (why on my new pump I got the overflow line to be about 100X longer than on the old pump - will hold more pressure & heat). This should really be tip #1 and the most important

*During break in if your pump has pressure adjustment - start it off slow and low. I ran mine for about a 1/2 day before I cranked it up and I'm still not running it at 100%.

It does not have pressure adjustment as far as I can tell. Good tip on the velcro straps!

Did you see the new PackOut setup they are coming out with to get more money out of me? Thinking one of these will be great for my mobile reloading setup. They are releasing a two and three drawer setup .

It is not rape...

The guy who founded DeWalt and recently left to revamp Milwaukee is a freaking genius.

I looked at the pack-out stuff because I got the rolling bottom cart "for free" with my tool purchase, but it's way to pricey for residential use IMHO.

Now for a pro - hell yea. Being organized def helps efficiency thus keep labor rates down.

Maybe if the stuff goes on sale I'd buy it for home use.

I was looking for something I could put my 18ga bradnailer into because it's slightly delicate but they wanted something like $70 for a single small bin. That's a price thats angering and moronic especially considering you can get a Pelican case for similar pricing that is far superior in quality and ability to take a beating.

They are doing a better job when they sell the M18 tools with a PackOut case with the foam already inside and cut out for the tool/ batteries. That is a job ready setup that will last.

Thats good news! The irony of buying expensive tools only to have to buy expensive storage to put them in was not lost on me. Very good tactics and 5 years ago I would of gotten hooked by it.

When I was buying my storage containers this week I thought about it. Big sales push for Black Friday into Christmas citizens buy way to much crap they don't really need. And the next big sale is in the new year for storage containers so everyone can pack up and put away all the crap they bought and didn't need.

Same reasons I see storage facilities popping up everywhere.

Capitalistic gluttony through great marketing tacts keeps the economy rolling and our citizens under control via their own debt.

If I was going to invest in anything around a city it would be land I could develop into a storage facility. Talk about a money maker.

The long term use and functionality is what I am focusing on. The toolbox setup in my 4Runner will transfer to my next vehicle/rig setup so the investment will carry over. My reloading setup is great for setting up a portable reloading bench that I can use for load development at the range. I cut down my load development cycle by months being able to test different setups/combinations real time in one day. The time and gas savings have been crazy in just a the few months I have been using it already.

But these are both not the common use for average home owners. As a "portable toolbox" they are way to expensive for regular uses.

adrenaline's still pumping - just a reminder if you get some used tools - prob a good idea to give them a look over to insure they work good and lube them up, especially the safety features

My moms old corded Makita circular saw just ran away from me while cutting down scarp wood in my yard cause the guard stuck open.

Placed it on my deck after a cut and boy did that wake me up. That could of been bad.

Sooo... I have a chance to get a Grizzly mini-mill. CHEAP... like uber super cheap... its about a $2000 mill. Has accessories and such, damn near brand new. I don't need a mill.. I have a place to put it. But what are reasons I would need a mill? I have a couple 80%'s I could finish out with it. Other than that I'm struggling to justify it. I have a Jet drill press that can also finish the 80's out.

I KNOW... But I am currently at a point where I want to purge shit. Like sell a bunch of shit I don't use. This week I hope to put a few larger things on FB Marketplace and get rid of it. Rigid contractor tablesaw with stand, those 4 big ass jackstands... I might keep two. Coleman 1600 watt genny that I never have used. These 2 Strongarm welding tables.. might keep one. Plus more shit. Just need to purge. Kinda overwhelmed.
