Meh, these vertical bandsaws are trash from my experience. The horizontal ones are much better. They're also usually more expensive.

I have a portable Milwaukee bandsaw. I was also offered a Porter Cable standup bandsaw for uber cheap but I don't need one.

Oh and no, you won't build one cheaper... I guarantee.

I prefer the metal drop bandsaws. Much better for shop use.

They both have their places. If you are going to be cutting more then straight lines yiu need the upright. The drop ones are for cleaner/faster cuts then you get with a chop saw. I use the shit out of the Jet one at the shove.

And a tube bender. All just as dusty as each other cause nobody using them.
