Got my first pocket hole jig kit today from General. It has it's limitations where it can be used (no inside corners) unlike the Kreg kits but will work for what I need it to do (exterior steps built from scratch). For $25 I couldn't pass it up. It's extruded aluminum with steel inserts for the bits. The kreg version is plastic but will do inside corners. I did buy the exterior rated screws from Kreg because I trust them more than an off brand on stair treads.

Also finally got the Milwaukee router on order. I gave up waiting for more bundle deals on them because I need it in order to continue progress & don't "need" another charger or set of batteries. I don't know why but HD has had them at $199 yet Amazon and Walmart are selling them for $145 and thats been the same for about a year that Ive been keeping an eye on them.

This router purchase has been doomed.... First the plunger stand I got was used when it was supposed to be new, then the router fraud on fleebay for the bundle deal....next I tried to order the bare tool from Amazon and that fiasco led to me canceling my account w/them and now it's on order w/Walmart. Fingers crossed this purchase works and it doesn't blow up in my face the first time I try to use it lol

Getting my rig toolbox setup straightened out. Next up is foam cut out sorting in my medium sized PackOut box for wrenches, impact, and ratchet. The red holder is a full Kobalt metric set while the black holder has a basic set of SAE and metric ratcheting wrenches.

The right side will get kaizan foam to hold the M12 drill and an M18 3/8"s impact. I may set it up for a second bit box at the bottom. On the left will be some noise control padding on the bottom. Then there are the two wrench sets, a variety of hand tools, and the miscellaneous things in the black box (zip ties, wire sections, and other misc things.

*still debating doing the M18 impact drill and M12 impact driver or M18 impact drill and M12 ratchet

Just bought a 72” chest to go on top the HF box I got last year. Should be a beast of a toolbox, hopefully my last purchase of that sort for a while. Got the 20% off with inside track member discount. Coupon is good til Monday

I have two 44" HF boxes with the side chests. Sadly they are the older 18" deep versions and just do not hold enough tools.

yep my 44” one is the 18” deep one, and I bought just before the 22” deep ones came out. So now I’ll have a 44” with side chest old style, and a 72” with top chest new style series 2 lol

Nice... I may have to break down and pick up some new 44's or a 72". Mine are maxed out.

yeah it kind of pissed me off with the series 2 only coming out a few months after I first purchased but oh well. And that 44” box is easy to max out, plus a lot of my bigger pliers and things don’t fit without placing them diagonal which wastes space. That extra few inches makes the difference :bentover::risas3:

I'm returning the Husky HD cabinet.

The box it came in was totally fine, but there are dents in 3 sides of it and several inside the pull out drawer. The feet adjusters were rounded out inside on 2 of the 4 (which got worse as I used the tool provided to make adjustments), and the soft close drawer doesn't work.

All-in-all, it would work fine as a cabinet, and it is going to get beaten up a bit by nature of it being in the garage. But for how much that thing cost, nope. So now I need to find a replacement.

That sucks. I always hate to see what could be a real nice item shipped like it is a cheap thing.

My "Professionally built in China by Milwaukee Tools Inc" M18 router came in. Milwaukee's marketing staff cracks me up...

Now just waiting for the round-over bit to come in tomorrow and Ill start messing around with it on some scraps.

BTW - pretty pleased with my change from Amazon to Walmart for quick ship/low price items. Walmart uses Fed-Ex and I while I prefer UPS I do like Fed-Ex over Amazons delivery services because they take better care of their people. Pretty sure Fed-Ex and Amazon don't even come close to how UPS treats it's guys.

It was packaged really nicely. Even had sensors on the box to detect impact of if it had been laid flat. I think the problem is quality control. This one should have been in a discount bin.

Love the pallet forks, should have bought them 2 years ago, makes it easy to load onto the lift, and awesome to stand up and sharpen the edge on the blades.
