Yeah, but he has everything needed to build it all back up he said. We had lunch about a month ago. I need to hit him up again.

Anyone seen this Roadmaster active suspension yet?

Saw that a few days ago lol

I'd like to see what a leaf spring mfg thinks about it. The way the torsion is applied on angle makes me wonder. Will hardware shift over time? Leafs crack?

Very interesting for sure. Seems easy enough to take on/off if you didnt need it 24/7 and only towed a few times a year

Axle is now under the leaf springs and the ride helpers installed. The after pic is horrible but was all I could get at dark. I plan to tow it around some tomorrow to see how it tows. I stood on it and jumped around and it felt much more solid with a little give; which is much nicer than before.

Overall the deck height is almost four inches higher than before. This will be a nice improvement for towing over unimproved roads and steep parking lot areas. Also I may be able to run taller tires now as well.

Took it for a quick trip around the neighborhood to put it back where I park it on my side lot. It rides so much better now even as an empty trailer. I put it on some rough spots on the road going faster than I should have and it was not bouncing all over the place trying to jerk the 4Runner around. This is going to be much nicer towing it on dirt roads now.

I thought the same thing when I saw that setup. Looks easy enough to take off when not needed.

Interesting. That place is only about 2 hours from me, be a nice setup on the back of my 6x10 trailer and I could ditch my RTT

I was thinking about dropping the RTT-on-trailer with this too.
Just build a box with plywood walls and insulation on the trailer. It'll be cheaper that way. You could also make it to where it can double as a hunting blind ;)

You are talking like a person that has lots of project time. I am currently happy my calendar just changed and I am home for a week instead of 3 days.

Not really my ride but my ride's ride I guess. Threw the kayak up on the trailer to see how it fit. Length is pretty spot on. Small overhang front and rear. Kayak is 128" trailer is 96". Then I ripped the wood off the trailer. I can't stand it being red so it's probably going to get a grinder taken to it and then painted with some Steel It. Thinking before I do that I'll probably weld it all together. I don't need it to fold up and I'd rather add some rigidity to it. Not that it needs it since the heaviest thing it will ever haul is likely my 400lb zero turn (load rating of 1195lb) but it will make me feel better. Pretty flimsy as is (though it was much better before I took off the plywood). I'd rather not have a piece of plywood be the only thing keeping my trailer from folding up like a taco. Also replacing all the lights and will probably put a 7 pin plug on it even though it doesn't need it. That's what the Tacoma has and I'd rather not have to use an adapter every time. I also may use one of the extra pins to be able to charge the batteries as I tow. Not necessary but it won't take much to add it so why not?View attachment 65246View attachment 65247View attachment 65248

I saw a homemade 5 x10' flat bed yak trailer last month at the boat launch. The guy had two pvc pipes 3in x 10' iirc that he pulled out from underneath the trailer to launch his yak. The yak just slid down the pipes and into the water. I thought that was a cool ideal, especially since his trailer wasn't galvanized for the salt water.
