What have you done to someone else's ride lately?

That left side of the carrier bearing that LOOKS like it's poking out a ton is actually different from the right side. It has an extra quarter inch lip on it. But yes, it does angle in it's mount a bit as you can see from the right side with part of it flush and the top part poking out a little. I don't suspect that it will be too much of an issue considering the stock one isn't angled/shimmed either. That being said, the stock one is prone to (what we'd consider) early failure and that could be the reason why. I agree that shimming it so it's angle is a bit more true with the shaft would be ideal. I'm going to rock it as is for a while just to get familiar with how it feels currently.

One thing i will say is this...I have a 3" lift with the Dakars and the Icons. So you should look at the angles and think, "This is what they look like with a 3" lift". I mention that because the stock carrier bearing is about 3" higher than the one shown here. So this replacement is GREAT if you have a lifted truck and needed to drop the bearing a bit. It's HORRIBLE if you're at a stock ride height. For me, it really helped get my angles closer to zero and it solved 100% of my start off vibrations.

Just appears the bushing is popping out the front. Might be best to angle it a smidge. Just my 2 cents.

I thought this mod created a bunch of vibes at high speeds? Like 60+mph? That's the main reason I went with OEM carrier bearing.

How exactly do the two piece driveshaft angles work, I've never found anything showing how the angles should be aligned

Good question....and now I'm realizing I've not yet had it on the highway. There shall be testing tomorrow. I'll report once we do some higher speed runs on the highway.

I posted up a few posts on it a month or so ago. Search it. It is what I used to measure and shim mine. Vibes gone. :)

Infiniti wanted about $250 to replace the wife's cabin air filter and engine air filter. Ordered some nice ones from Rock Auto for $58 shipped. Just have to wait about a week and then install it. Now to tell the wife I saved $190 and I need a new Milwaukee Fuel 3/8"'s impact to install them. LOL

I have the "latest and greatest" drill & impact from DeWalt and I love em but they are getting to the point where they are TOO powerful. It'll strip the Phillips head on a screw before you realize the bit is slipping. It's taken me some getting used to bc I kept driving screws through boards at first.

Also the drill will rip itself out of your hands which is not cool...these manufacturers need to learn when enough is enough....

Can't you adjust the clutch for the Chuck?

One great feature about my Milwaukee Fuel hex impact is the 3 power levels. Level 1 is just enough for delicate stuff like cabinet hardware but on level 3 it will drive a 6" 3/8 lag bolt with some serious authority.

The drill only has one "drilling" setting. I don't use the drill to put in screws, I only use the impact for that job (it's what you do in construction).

Yeah my DeWalt has this as well but it still has too much power on setting #1 lol

I drove it to the office yesterday and I think it has a little bit of vibration throughout most speeds except when you get going 50+ pretty much. Like, if you could take the vibration severity I was feeling before on takeoff and divide it evenly across 1-50mph it's kinda like that. I think that's in part to the carrier bearing being TOO low at this point. I really need to raise it up just a touch. I think the angle I have in it right now is fine but it simply needs to be the other way (up). That should make the two pieces essentially a straight line. I may even push it up just a touch more. Reason being is because when the drivetrain is under load the rear suspension will squat and create more angle. I think this should make it about perfect. Now I gotta find solid aluminum or steel stock and cut it to length. :D

Take a thickness measurement of that stock we used for the spacer. I probably have some drop cuts in the garage that will do what you need and be thinner.

Thanks Zech, I already put some on order though. Got 1.25" aluminum lathe stock. Planning to drill out the middle so I can thread the bolt through it. Which reminds me, I need to go to turner hardware and get the longer bolts!
