@tex is the one who taught me all rentals are Baja Editions.
lol

Exactly what I was doing with the Chrysler 300 up in central Maine and New Hampshire last year, the transmission was slipping when I brought it back, the power steering was much louder but I only used up half the tire treads in 2 weeks.

lol I never buy a rental car!!!

Replaced the HB, crank seal, serpentine belt, oil change and filter on greasy mf Cheby Maliboo.

I bought the parts and turned wrenches all for a good deed...

The car belongs to a college student, he is involved with the work study program(maintenance &. tooling of the manufacturing) for Toyota at the Tundra plant in SA. His mom and him dont have much, and they also care for elderly aunt, he lost his father 2 years ago during Scout summer camp.

Really good kid that became an Eagle Scout and graduated from high school last year.

Important to note, on the engines that require much higher crank torqes, if you put the the removal bolts back that come with the HB puller kit, then wedge a break over bar in those bolts and then brace or use large c-clamp to the frame to keep the crank from turning over while apply the proper torqe, if you don't have one of those long handle Tq crank pulley tools.

Glad to see that cross check stuffs working.

I got my mom a new Nissan Saturday. Spent 6 months talking about what she wanted. Spent a few weeks checking dealer prices and options I wanted her to have. She refused to test drive anything else and was sure she wanted a 2019 Altima in Camry colors lol. I take her to test drive and buy a Altima and she hated it. I had her test drive a Rouge and she fell in love. Glad I took all the time to do all the prep on the Altima. I told her we could come back next week and buy a Rouge once I did all my due diligence. I was overridden and by noon she owned a new SUV. You can lead them to the water but can't force them to drink it. In the end she's happy and I guess that's all that matters, but I would of felt better had I been prepared and done research on it.

Now the hard part of selling a 13 yo used Nissan Altima grocery getter with less than 60k on it lol

it's got the self driving feature on it - wonder if that works in the woods?

It's anemic at best with 170hp and a CVT. I'm just glad she's happy and back in a AWD vehicle for winter.

CVT? As in belt driven, those dont even hold up in big bore quads/side x sides, how the hell does it not self destruct pushing way more weight and power

Better not. I got 60k onthe Subaru and so far so good with it's CVT.

No clue whats driving it. Just about all the small cars/suv's seem to have CVT's these days.

They do self destruct

Subaru extended my warranty from 36k to 100k on my drive train so I'm just waiting for it to go one day. So far so good.

The Honda CVT's suck ass apparently according to the mechanic forums I browse through. All the Honda techs say to stay away from Honda's with the CVT and to never buy a used Honda with a CVT.

The CVT was the only reason I got the extended warranty on my Subaru then after a year of ownership Subaru extended it for everyone. I was not happy.

Ill tell you what - yesterday I was driving our company Colorado with one of my foremen and we felt/heard a clunk then looked at each other. Not sure if the tranny is shit after only 20k or whats going on because it's a co-workers truck, but anyway you look at it the noises and clunks it was making should not be normal. It's not a CVT but still sucks.

I wouldn't know. Never owned one and neither has anyone in my family. I don't even know anyone who owns one. Looking back I did have a friend who owned a Camaro 20 years ago. What a POS that was lol

With those dainty little front CVs I wonder what else was built to that level of bute strength! lol

Curious what the driveshaft looks like on those. Will it hold up to some real "get me unstuck" torque or will it pretzel and start smacking everything around it?

Not really a ride per say but I installed new LED trailer lights and a harness on the family trailer. I also put new 3/4" plywood siding and new wood gates on the trailer as well.
I swaged these into the trailer so they can stop getting "lost" by family members and friends. I'm tired of replacing them.

Edit: forgot to add that I put actual trailer tires on this trailer awhile back. Made a huge difference in how it towed for me on the freeway instead of having mis-matched worn out car tires on that my step-dad loved to buy for it.
