What have you done to someone else's ride lately?

Went well, had to cut his old rear shocks out cuz the top nut post where you hold with a crescent sheared off on both sides. Rode great.

Haha. We had to cut the U-bolts on the factory leaf pack that we took off the Tacoma that we worked on this weekend because they were so rusted that the bolts weren't moving for the impact. an hour trying to get each nut off by hand or 30 seconds with a cutoff wheel. The second side went much faster!

I try not to waste time on petty shit either, especially if it's just going in the trash anyway.

Added 5" length to some 4x sliders, then plated the bottoms. Will re-weld another day.

Changed his brake pads while the shocks were getting swapped. I was able to remove both struts in about 14 minutes.

So final count on @RichardB23 truck yesterday. Front struts, front brakes, rear 3rd member with swapping rear flange. After using a friends large 1/2" electric impact I need a bigger one.
New tools purchased=30mm socket for the rear flange nut.
Timed me removing and installing the front struts. From jacking up the truck to putting tires back on was just over 34 minutes.

Since my old Tacoma is now technically my sammich maker's daily driver I guess I did work on "someone else's" ride. The driver side hub was shot so I ordered one from Jersey Built Hubs. The hub arrived in good shape and installed a lot easier than I expected. A couple of quick coats of paint made the hub ready for install. My only issues installing it were from having a rig with 275k miles on the original equipment. I did notice that I need to get new rotors and pads on the Tacoma soon. I will probably swap them out when I swap out the passenger hub next month.

Now is there anything that should be done with the bad hub?

Man I would have put some paint on that thing a while ago. I have an affliction to surface rust. I'd hit the whole thing with a wire wheel and then a coat of rustoleum.... taping off the studs after the wire wheel treatment.
